Good Luck Maximum Texas...
Injun, That story sounds a lot like T.O. Better watch out or They will talk about You on the T.Ocho show...Injun Thanks this. -
apparently analogies are over the head here?....

the point being made is a good one and should be heeded...
just not good policy to bash the boss before one has even had their first day at work....
....now you can go back to sleep...

sometimes you can take the boy out of the trailer park, but you cant take the trailer park outta the boy

Go to your local Conway Freight...i know they have one in Houston--two if i'm not mistaken. Home every night, and they pay well. Good Luck where ever you might land.

This means nothing to me.
Once again, doesn't mean a #### thing. Federal Regulations on load securement has changed since granddad's day!
Not exactly!
When your stuck at a loading dock with a van for a couple hours.... You can go out for a jog or a walk.
What are you going to do when your stuck in line at a steel mill & have to continue moving your truck forward in line every 20 minutes? Cause if you don't move it, you'll be passed by all the trucks behind you.
And this prepares you for nothing!
I respect that. But I have to ask, why flatbed when you have no experience with trucking in general?
USXpress & Covenant don't have flatbeds
Don't expect to get rich ever! And you'll need more then a year for proper braggin' experience.
Your biting off more then you can chew.
First of all, there is no negotiations in trucking. You either accept what they have to offer or you walk. As for 12 months thinking your get on with a good company.... Not true! Any company who is truely good will require 3 or more years experience.
We have no trucker shortage. 100's of thousands of driver's out of work these past couple years.... And they hire you. The rookie! Why? Because your desperate & will work for peanuts when an experienced driver requires more money. All your doing is helping the trucking companies get richer while your willing to work for slave wages.
We do have a freight shortage though.
Once again... You will have no negotiations! You take what they offer or you go home. Easy as that!
If you want to be a flatbedder, your going to have to change that attitude & rather quickly.
Flatbedding isn't a job.... It is a lifestyle & a brotherhood. Flatbedders listen, take advise, give advise, and help one another out regardless of what company they drive for.
You wanna be a flatbedder? Then yes you will have to prove yourself. And yes you will have to earn respect. And how you earn it is by giving it.
I can tell you this.... Flatbedders will not tollerate your disrespect.
If you disrespect a flatbedder out on the road, be prepared to accept a winch bar up side your head.
Professionals have time in the seat. Professionals have miles under their belt. Professionals know how to do their job correctly. Professionals know how to remain professional.
You have none of that. Currently you are not a professional. In a few years you may be one, but right now your basicly an intern.Last edited: Nov 15, 2010
Ken Thanks this. -
If your serious about wanting to be a flatbedder... Then I suggest you read the linked thread. It may help you understand the brotherhood of flatbedders.

Bet you feel like a real man trying to impress (?) others by not only insulting the company that gave you a chance (even before you start driving for them), but insulting women and or other Swift drivers who are defending the company that hired you. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
With a handle like Maximum Texas, sounds like you are compensating for some insecurity issues.Last edited: Nov 15, 2010
