I went on an interview, followed up the next day and filled out 3 forms, while i WAS THERE, The owner of the company made a few calls, and said yea he'll be there by 1,
He has to pick up his driving record on the way up there, ( it was 11:00 Am)
Long story short , I had my Photo ID for the Postal contractor In very little time, and was on a route with a trainer 1 Am the following morning.

Odd, everyone wants to get paid more such as driving for USPS, and yet gripe as postage rates go up! I know, there is too much competition from internet bill pay, etc, but still, paying employees more or paying more for services only raises a business' costs which are passed to consumers. It's a catch 22...

LOL...is .46 per stamp really gonna break the bank?
Thing is...people who aren't making a decent wage aren't buying things.
If people aren't buying things, it's less stuff for truckers to haul.

I don't think workers should be overpaid...but all people who work hard and do a professional job should be able to enjoy a fair wage with good benefits.

But big business in this country want us to work for nothing...and then still buy their overpriced lead-tainted junk from China.
    Talk about a catch 22!!!!

    I was thinking that!....lol!

Oh,This job is not a super high paying job for sure. Each load or route has a pay scale set by the USPS...so the contractor says anyway...

They showed us some examples...Charlotte to Philly was about 259 bucks..one way...

used to haul USPS mail orlando to philly and back. didnt need any credentials. and i am not about about to start either. just like hauling haz all those years and doing the ports. to me - its a ripoff to make drivers pay money for a permit to do the same thing we've always done. just my 2 cents

At least the company paid for the finger printing and back ground checks.
That is twice i have been finger printed in the last year..:biggrin_25513:

I used to run in and out of the ports years ago and never had all this BS to deal with..
