on many job applications there are questions like, "has your license EVER BEEN suspended or revoked".....there IS NO TIME LIMIT to that question....

you might very well find it very difficult to find work......

$400/week is MINIMUM you'll make anywhere with a CDL, even driving straight (CDL-B) truck. That is probably how you'll have to start and get some experience. Something regional, straight truck.

I would recommend going to some local trucking companies and asking them about their requirements regarding past violations/suspensions/revocations. If it's good, get to school now so you will be able to start working in the spring , when most of the companies start hiring for the busy season. Good luck

In all actuality you probably aren't going to find much in this line of work because of your age. Most trucking companies - because of insurance regulations - will require that you be anywhere from 22-26 years old; however, it won't hurt you to go ahead and get your CDL now. You may well be able to procure a local job driving dumps, hauling wood or delivering building materials. In my locality, those jobs pay an average of $10-15 per hour.

As for your license suspension, each company differs in how they handle such matters. I received an administrative suspension years ago because I failed to pay a traffic fine; it has been explained to me by several companies that my suspension doesn't really 'count' since my suspension wasn't related to an accident, a moving violation or DUI, and that this event occurred before I obtained my CDL.

Given your age, I'd probably put 3-5 more years between myself and my suspension; not only will you be eligible for hire based on age, you will also be able to show prospective employers that you have matured and are capable of driving a truck.
