I have seen a few Petes lately with a blue oval instead of red on their grill...looks nice, but is this a factory option or is this a replacement oval?
Us ovalheads want to know!!!
Thanks.![]()

There was a joke about the only difference between a Ford and a Pete being the color of the oval. I told it to a state trooper once after he wrote the citation. That guy got at least one farmer/driver I know of to quit driving truck.
It's either an after market thing, or someone recolored it. I have seen the swan wings from the hood ornaments attached to pigs and bulldogs, and I have seen the swan with rose colored wings on a dolled up Pete. I have seen the oval in monochrome, and also devoid of any paint. -

I liked the blue oval, as it was a bright blue, and blue or red is my favorite color. I can't seem to decide which, to I have to get everything in both colors when I can't decide......I like orange too, and lime green, and sheet, anything but white!!!!
I am always happy getting into my petercar and seeing the familiar things, like the clutch pedal that goes to the floor, and the gauges -- that I have to take my #### glasses off and lean forward to read, and the #### script lettering under the switches --that I have to get a flashlight out and take my glasses off to read..... She is kind of a ##### some times, but she is a pretty ride, like a ##### should be.... -
