Well I talked to darlene today who is my processor and she said i will most likely be running in the northwest which is fine cause i live in Washington. She said i'll possibly be running WA, OR, ID, MT, and canada but i'll find out when im in training
-
lol, good luck with that! I was told the same thing, got home Tuesday from the East coast.
-
Lol yea well hopefully i'll stay west but hey if i have to go to the east coast then so be it but it sounds like they try to keep you where you suppose to be but i know that it's not always possible
-
The east coast isnt that bad like everyone thinks...
-
haha yea well i like it out west not as crowded.
-
I have no problem going to the East coast, as long as I can turn and burn back to the West!
-
Id like to see the east coast but just not in a big truck

A guy from last weeks class got assigned to a Canadian run just last week if I'm not mistaken. Don't think it is a dedicated route, but he was happy with his assignment.

With W/S it's easy to get stuck in loops, and there are eastern loops and western loops. For example, I spent almost all of September '09 running Montana to Denver/Ft. Collins and back to Montana, and then October and November were spent running the western states. I stayed west of the Mississippi for 3 months last fall before I got a load back to the eastern time zone. I live in Georgia, but I don't have a wife or a family or much need for hometime, so I can stay out for months without a problem. Last week I came off the first hometime I'd requested since June, but then again I haven't been west of the Mississippi since then, either, so I didn't really need it. I live in Atlanta so it's easy enough to get by the house every now and then while running the east. Since W/S specializes in carpet and furniture, the dispatch system is naturally set up to loop drivers in circles. Pretty much every carpet load out of Dalton is going to be followed by a load to bring you back to Georgia so you can pull more carpet out of Dalton. Unless there are too many trucks in Dalton or you happen to empty out close to freight going to North Carolina, which sets you up to pull a furniture load out of Conover. And unless that Conover load sends you way out west you'll most likely pick up a load to return you to either Conover or Dalton, to start the loop all over again.
It works a little differently out west, but you'll still tend to loop in and out of Santa Fe Springs a lot. Of course, there are lots of variables and sometimes you might do back-to-back cross-country runs for a couple of weeks. You just never know. I'm a little surprised they've kept me east this long, but I haven't asked about it because I don't care all that much where I'm going as long as I am going somewhere.wulfman75 Thanks this.
