Well, I plan on attending Roadmaster driving school next September. When I spoke with them, they said two companies will reimburse me for the tuition. Werner and TMC. Also, both companies use the Apprentice program which means I will be getting my GI Bill benefits while driving either company. The problem, is I don't know which company to choose. There are more companies out there that I would like to drive for, but none pay my tuition or VA Benefits.

Any suggestions? Also, please don't complain about a certain company just because of a bad issue you had with a certain person.. There are bad apples in every company..

    Thanks..

Looks like you have a while to think about it...I for one left Werner after 1 month and a half...not a good experience...I am getting ready to jump on a truck with TMC this afternoon, let me tell you the apprentice class is 2 weeks and is very to the point as is the 1 week orientation I just went through...after the 2 weeks if you can't drive or secure a load then you just weren't paying attention...they are very good at teaching you what you need to know...not trying to talk you into anything just telling you the truth...

    Thank you for the reply...

I am gearing more towards TMC myself.. The majority of Werner comments have been negative to begin with plus I have read where new drivers may get stuck with driving as a team. I am a very very anti social person and a loner myself, so it would kill me driving as a team and it would be bad for the other guy cause I wouldn't be talking to him.. LOL..

How did the securement training go? Was is very difficult to learn? Please, keep me updated on how your time goes with TMC..
Oh, one more question... When I first researched TMC several months ago, it (Their Website) stated that after your time with the trainer, you have to get tested again before you are assigned a truck. Now, it states that after your time with the trainer, all you have to do is certify training. Is that the same as testing out?

Werner could easily end your career in a few weeks. I would advise against going with them.

    My .02 cents

I do not work for them, I drive for Maverick. I pick up and deliver at the same places that they do. I have been very impressed with their drivers and their equipment. What does not make them first class in your opinion?

They lost there EZPass because they did not pay there tab
They lost there Truck wash account because they did not pay there tab
They Fillied for bankruptcy in December 2009
They run there company like the marines

I do agreen the 99.9% of there equipment looks great, and there drivers for the most part act proffesional but as a company they do not, they are a Training company, they're far from the bottom but they are not "First Class". Maverick is a far better company then TMC.
