Features and bugs are done by the same team. So things are added as bugs are also worked out.

Driving logs - main menu\ truck\update driver status\ set to main menu
buttons, then main menu\truck tools\timer and logs\set the 11\14\70 to
default of 11\14\70 and this will stop the warnings.

Main screen\preferences\route\auto calculation\ set to manual.

    Thanks,
    Mark

The updates do not eat half your bandwidth each month. This last update did or did not allow you to download the new mapset. This was the users choice. Normal version updates which come out about every 3-4 months take about <10mb..

Other updates include POI, Global POI and Construction which are less than <1mb.

A lot of users had issues with the mapset download due to user errors, internet connections and other minor factors.

The servers were taken off line so that Rand could do some cloud front work as well as back end servers to open up more bandwidth and allow more users to access the updates.

I was in Skokie the last two weeks and the hotel internet was really poor so now I am home for a Day and catching up.

What has transpired, New update SD Card, New version in QA to fix some of the issues found from the last update.

A couple of other issues were found in the software and have been fixed on our end to be included in the soon to be released update.

As far as getting the last update for Maps, your unit if you did do the update, if you are not computer challenged, Please look at the TND when it is connected at the folder called NaviMaps. The DCA files, make sure they are all the same date. You cannot have a mixture of 8/17 or 2/19 files. If you do have a mixture, contact me. The next update will not fix the DCA issue.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Nah, the little updates are just that. The main updates, which this current one that caused the problems was, are around 2.5gb. Wireless plans are generally capped at 5gb per month. That's what I meant. Main updates don't come out very often though, so it's not like it's a constant problem.

Correct. In fact there has only been one update that size ever to my knowledge.

I just installed the latest TND Dock and then updated my TND700 to the latest, then left the house to search for an empty trailer, with my TND in the exact same position as before in the truck. "No GPS" during my 4 hours trailer search?! I guess I need to reset somehow? I did backup before running both updates.

I aquired a TND700 recently....a T7E. I updated both the software and the docking software fine. However, nothing there about map updates. Does the T7E need the new map update? And are there other issues I might need to know about?

What's the difference, if any, between the 500 and 700? Just the scribe/notepad function? What's the latest version of each? Are any new versions due out soon? Do they come with a case? Is the Dock sold seperately? And what became of the USB problem?

    Thanks,

    Buzz

I also have the T7E. It shipped with the new maps so you didn't need it during the update.
