I would have to recommend the General Lee. Sparkys will get it to you quickly and it will be properly peaked and tuned. If you're wanting to get out 20 miles, you should speak with Al to see what your options are with this radio or perhaps he will suggest another unit.
Is this a good radio and good price?

Could you clarify several points for me?
What range are you getting now?
What distance do you want to be able to transmit?
What is your SWR reading?
If you could answer these questions, members may be able to improve your setup without the costly expense of purchasing another radio. The problem with CB radio installations is not usually the current radio. -
I currently pick up static constantly and only get out around 2 miles... alot of of it is probably in the antenna setup... but, yesterday I finally made a purchase, i called sparkys and spoke with al and he set me up with a Ranger RCI 3900HP radio and a Browning BR51 antenna... said i should be loud and proud with that radio. anyone else run this set up?

not trying to rain on your parade but the radio had is a good talking radio if setup properly....
You should have upgraded the coax and antenna setup and see what you came out with
and if still not satisfied get the 66 tuned....IMO....
I run a 68 same as 66 just newer in my pickup with a 55 antenna and can get 10-15 miles with it
