Okay, which outfit for company provided schooling is the best on the west side of the country?

Swift sounds problematic, but are willing to get me in their school and Schnieder isn't taking anymore students for a while. I'm not signing on with anyone until I do all my homework, so I've got some time to work it all out.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

Central Refrigerated sounds to be a decent place to start, theres swifts sister company but slightly better and way better trucks...but DONT SIGN A LEASE no matter how much they push it or make it sound good DONT DO IT!!!!!!

You're in North Carolina, right? Are you looking for schools west of the Smokies, west of the Mississippi, west of Arizona? How far west are you trying to go? If you could give us an idea of what states you will or will not consider, it would be helpful.

Are you dead-set on attending a school out west? If not, you might want to consider finding a good school regardless of where it's located, and then after school request that you drive primarily out west. Just a thought...

Well, the reasoning for schooling in the west is that if housing is not provided that I have family out here. I'm not opposed to an eastern school if I have a place to crash at night(oops, I guess I shouldn't say crash on this site).

Thanks for the info about Central I'll look into it, and I won't think about doing a lease/flease for a while, at least for a year or more.

I'm looking for as much info as ya'll can give me.

    Thanks

I would wait until late Feb. an sign with a ltl carrier and work the dock or run a yard truck. When a city spot opens I would switch to the city then run the road when a run spot opens. If you work for these truckload carriers you will just destroy your dac report and quit company after company. Working too many places will also mess up your work history then you'll be stuck working for these guys. Most ltl carriers don't use the dac system or even care about it. They just want the best drivers they can get.

Sorry I didn't mention that I'm in Oregon and that's the reason for wanting to stay on the west side. I'm not closed to east side just thinking logistically.

NEVER lease a truck, it doesn't matter if you've got 20 years of experiance, your still going to fail and destroy your credit. If you want to buy a truck then BUY a truck don't lease it.

Never put yourself in debt to the people that decide how much money you make!
