I drove OTR for a year back 2003 till 2004. I went from driving trucks to driving buses. I drove a bus for over three and a half years. Stop driving bus went into warehouse work. Haven't commerical driven in over two years due to accident and suspended license. I have gotten everthing clear up. I've been trying to get back into driving again but no one will hiring due to me not driven a truck since 2004. Do anyone have a idea what I can do to get some experience so I can get back on the road, or I'm SOL?!

Sure, search the bottoms and find a big boy who will put you on like JB or Schneider. It also may not be your being out of the truck as much as your suspension hurting you.

Start calling the recruiters and be honest. Don't expect much money or perks. When you land a job, do at least 6 months of sparkling service and you'll have something to deal with.

Don't lie about your suspension. $1200 and an Internet connection and I can pull your complete life for the last 10 years. Add a grand and I can look at your last 20. You might pull your own DAC and DL. Know what they know before they know it, see?

Or look for a small Mom and Pop company....Many of them do not to such an intense background check,Just be sure to be honest about the suspension up front.

Either route you go i think you can get back into it..

The suspension will not hurt you if over 3 years. A lot of guys on here like to scare you but don't pay any attention to these clowns. I agree it will be hard but only because of the time away from driving. Keep looking and stay positive and you will find a company that will take you.
