Well I've hauled alot of reefer loads and I seem to remember when I picked up the loads the temps were CLEARLY marked on the B.O.L.'s and there was also this nice little LIABILITY clause where you sign YOUR name on it saying as the trucking companies representative you take and will be held responsible for any and all damages to said cargo. Try hauling cucumbers out of Florida to the pickle plants...if you dump your load....guess what it was like $200 a pallet that the DRIVER WAS CHARGED cause guess what YOU damaged it.
Pay attention to what you sign and read the both the large and small print.
I would guess that the trucking companies insurance company doesn't want to pay for the damages because it was CLEARLY driver fault. Just sayin
The Company is asking the driver to pay for damaged load

i drive a reefer truck but still kind of new to it (6 months in) what is BOL, or CYA?? my setup is pretty simple i just set it at 35 cuz im delivering milk and i keep it on auto start/off and it keeps the temp around 38ish, turning itself on when it needs to.

BOL is Bill Of Lading
CYA is Cover Your Azzhat
Heck you got it easy for reefer . . . same type of load! -
yeah my job is pretty simple. i get my paper work for the day, jump in the truck and drive to my stops. when i get to a stop i just look at the paper work and bring in what they ordered, some people check me in, some people dont even look at me i just bring it into the cooler and leave. if someone gives me a hard time my supervisor jumps down their throat. pretty sweet deal if you ask me, i would like to make more money i'm on 600$ a week salary but what can you do. i'm not struggling to pay my bills on that money so i'm overall happy. i just like money i think i am addicted to it lolrocknroll nik and Lilbit Thank this.

Cool deal! You've got it together pretty good for your age. I know too many your age that do not have it that together. At least my boys have it together too. My oldest is almost 23! He's about to make me a mother-in-law too.

Lilbit Thanks this. -
also amen to people my age not having it together! my generation is pathetic as a whole. its pretty sickening if you ask me but hey, it makes it easier for me because i can stand out and theres a lot less guys like me that are my age.
Lilbit Thanks this.
