We have a customer in Birmingham, AL that is on the corner of a one way street. Your choices are to come down the one way street and try to blind back into the tight dock or come down the side street and run down the one way the wrong way about 200' to set up right. Guess how most do it? :)

I really enjoy doing u-turns when I am light or empty. Of course, I try to avoid them as a rule, but in states or cities where u-turns are legal, I do them without hesitation as long as there isn't a sign saying no uturns for trucks. Disclaimer: when I was a newbie I never did uturns. I would drive 20-30 miles, whatever, to avoid a u-turn or having to back out of a tight situation.

the driver progress report was filled couple days before the last 4 hours of my training He said I tested you out when you were driving in downtown Chicago rush hours and you did excellent
Now if you work for a company and believe someone is excellent and that He will be a very good driver for that company do you think He is not stupid to let you do something as dumb as a U-turn where he know I will be fired right away
and like I told him Rob my success is yours and didn't finish the sentence which entails my failing is yours sooooo you have to help me and should of told me right away what are you doing or STOP or this is a U-TURN ...something to make me correct myself
now He hurt me and hurt himself since they suspend him now don't you think that's not stupid
if you are still saying yes it is not stupid let me tell you one thing or ask you one Q who won in this situation him me or the company ( I think not me nor him or even the company since they lost me and spent thousand of dollars to train me Motel, greyhound tickets work comp ......etc

I hear what your saying, but coming on here and calling some trainer (Rob) "stupid" in the same sentence that you say he was giving you a recommendation and trying to save both your arses, looses credit with me. Wether Rob is stupid or not, he was going out on a limb to save both of you. He could of easily told his manager that you did the U-turn without his approval but that it was too late for him to stop you. He could of said all this without you ever knowing so be greatful that your trainer was willing to go down with his ship. BTW does Rob know you just stabbed him in the back by coming on to a public forum and annoucing his failure to thousands of other truckers. Care to give out his truck and phone number too? The trainer messed up, YOU messed up, (I'm sure it was written somewhere in the company drivers handbook that U-turns were against company policy) and Werner......well as other mentioned....it's Werner...trust us you'll do better. Anyway sorry for your job loss.
