    Hello everyone,

I'm a new grad with no experience. I don't want to sound desperate, but I am. I need a job kinda fast and I need some help. :biggrin_25514:

I'm living in northern MI temporarily, and as soon as I get hired I'm moving to the Detroit area where I'm originally from. However I can't move until I get a job, you know the chicken and egg syndrom :). I really want to work for Schneider, but when I called she wouldn't discuss anything further than I need to live in Detroit to be hired. I thought maybe I could temporarily fib a little and give them a friend's address till I can move. Could I do something like this or should I not? Any thoughts on actually living a few more hours away from where they think I do would effect me? Are there any other ways around this?

Although I'm not sure if I should, I am applying to Swift. I need experience so I think I could tough it out. I see they hire in MI too, but do they hire from northern MI? I'd like to know before I submit an app that disqualifies me because I live a couple hours outside of their hiring radius.

Thanks a million to all who reply and thanks to all the great people and info on this board that have already helped me immensely :)

    Sincerely,
    Del

They should be looking at where you are wanting to get home to. Lead off with I'm moving to Detriot and what to know if you can put me on from there.

    Sammons, thanks for the reply,

However that's almost exactly what I did. I told her I had reliable transportation to the Detroit terminal and as soon as I got through training I was moving......

LOL, Yeah I know, I'm being a big baby, huh? Guess I just didn't want to do something catastrophic from the start. Thanks :)

You said you are formally from Detroit. Do you have any family or friends there who would let you use their address until you move?

Use the friends address and go to work they will not figure it out ...

Do you still got a mich drivers lic / CDL ?

If not it may help your case to go ahead and transfer your lic but then again I would not do that unless I was already out of TD school
