750 a week fuel
Heck I bought 100 gallons yesterday it was 318.00 I would love to see the truck that got got that magic 10.5-11.0 mpg
I get 6.3-6.5 loaded pulling tank I thought that was cool ... But I suppose I should ditch my truck ( it's paid for and pre- EGR) for one of the magic wagons at RTI ...
In all honesty .... Paying 162.00 a week for maint and the dictate where you go who you use ... Etc roughly 720 a month and use it how they tell you ... Seems fair right ?
If the grass was greener over at RTI and tge numbers were correct ... Don't your figure seasoned O/O's would be tearing the doors down over there and the the turnover ratio would be less than 10% ....
Truth is ... There not : and it's not
To even make a truck stop mag worth while for a trucking company recruiting budget they have to pull 10-15 qualified drivers to absorb the 2000-2500 price tag
Then Internet recruiting is a per application deal where these folks buy applications for 100-200 each and pay 200-500 monthly for a banner on a site and then some ....
At the size of RTI those numbers equal to
95-115% turnover ....
You decide ....

Now on a second note .....
The AD posted could have old numbers on it ... So if the numbers on the ad are incorrect then so was my figures of 10.5-11.0 mpg to make it at RTI -
Hey...Grandma's happy, that's all that counts!
grandma Thanks this. -
Based on the ad above.
I made that much money this week. My company cut the taxes, I didn't have to hire a CPA. Nor do I have to make sure payments are made on the truck.
I also have insurance, and access to unemployment.
Good deal ?? For who?
I'll never have to pay matching funds as a company driver. So I actually made more than the driver portrayed in the ad. -
But it is lso our duty as "message board"HEROS to state the obvious .. In case someone else tried to go out on this deal also ...
Some things on there ad just don't add up to current costs of doing business ... The most is the FUEL
One of your 2 biggest costs as a OO is
1. Fuel
2. Tires
But if grannie is happy that's is GREAT it may indeed work and the ad posted could be OLD ... If there is a newer one , you would need to review that first before you could decide -
I copied that ad right off of the company website. Unless they haven't updated in three years, it is current.
-
that's an old ad. look at the fuel surcharge. last week it was 27 cents
-
not a joke. i'm livin it
-
it is an old ad. and tires are not a separate expense nor do we pay a deductible on them. that is 100% paid forby maintenance fund and company
