i found a way around a recruiters bs....if you speak to them 3 or 4 times ask them the same questions over and over and over. Im going to swift but the way my luck is i dont think im getting there...had a fam emergency once again. but anywho...i was told i could get NE Regional. So whenever i talk to my recruiter i ask her 3 times before the phone call ends but at seperate times rather far apart what the running lanes are and all that good jazz....seems to be exact she aint slipped up and said anything out of the wrong YET. I'm not saying she aint lying but what i am saying is that what she has told me has matched up so far..example...i talked to her on a monday she told me ne regional was available...give her the 5th degree wrote everything down. Talked again on thurs...first thing out of my mouth were the same questions...wrote them down...everything has matched so far so idk...i guess we shall see

When I was in "Truck School", they had recruiters come in from:

    1)McElroy Truck Lines
    2)Werner
    3)Prime
    4)TMC
    and
    5)USA

    Now, in reverse order:

5)USA recruiter was an old fat slob. He talked about USA Trucks as if "yeah, we all know trucking sucks, so you won't be getting a brand new truck, but it will run. You won't get home much, but we'll try to keep you busy". I remember thinking - this is the best dude the company could find to sell us on going with them?!?!?!?!

4)TMC recruiter was a middle aged woman with an obvious hearing disability. Her speaking voice was like 110 Decibels and I litterally had to cover my ears because she was screaming loud. She kept saying the whole "TMC is one big family and we will love you like family" deal. She even lied to us when we (in Va BEACH, VA) asked her if we would be able to get home every weekend. She said yes. Recruiter on phone said NO.

3)Prime recruiter was a young woman. As soon as she said that once you sign up, you "won't see home at all for the first three months of training" I tuned her out and ignored the rest.

2)Werner recruiter was an old dude who claimed that he had been a driver for them for 30 years and was enjoying his retirement by selling folks on the best trucking company in the country (ROTFLMAO). He talked and talked and talked for more than an hour and claimed all of the "state of the art equipement" and "run where you want to run" and "you can get dedicated and be home a lot" CRAP. As soon as I heard "19 to 23 cents per mile to start", however, I tuned him out as well.

    and finally,

1)McElroy recruiter seemed more interested in telling us all what was wrong with all of the other companies instead of selling us on McElroy, but when he did finally get around to talking about the company, he mentioned several things that sparked my interest: a)Home every weekend or we will pay you $100 and b) 38 cents per mile to start.

As some of you may already know, I chose A and B and worked for McElroy for 2 and half years. My experience with them was positive and so I can honestly report that at least oout of those five, he was the most honest ROTF!
