Something is wrong with this company.
Our appointment time was at 5:15pm and the same for 30 other trucks, WTF?

According to the receiver they don't start until 7:00pm.
My driver asked them to stamp "time in" and they refused to stamp anyone.

It got so bad that one driver (not mine) was kicked off the property because he got into the shippers face.

I told my driver that all trucks should agree together and leave.

    I LOVE Toronto......NOT.

I always love it once I am out of there. Even with my car. Once a year is often enough for me, and I only live 1.5 hours away.

And yet you and every other fleet and O/O will be there tomorrow and the day after that for ever and ever hauling their crap taking Metro's crap. You guys will NEVER get together and do something to make it better for yourselves and your drivers. Don't you guys that haul into these food warehouses ever get tire of eating sh1t sandwiches?

    I agree with your statment.

However they all suck big time. Having said that if this is not resolved I will cancell the next 5 loads.

I'm Ok with the wait as long as the driver is looked after and I don't mean me paying out of my own pocket.

You, hired the driver, quit passing the buck onto detention time and up your rate to cover drivers down time.

And watch as another carrier comes in and offers to do it for the rate they used to do it at while not complaining about detention time.

Why do people think carriers can wave a magic wand and raise rates without taking the marketplace and supply/demand into account?

If the dumb carriers would quit eating the sh1t sandwiches they are served EVERY time they go to a food warehouse then they would get unloaded/loaded in a timely fashion OR receive remuneration for the delay!

    Pretty simple isn't it?

You can't up your rates I tried last year and my trucks sat for half of the month. If I don't take what they are offering my drivers sit. If drivers dont work they don't make money then go to other companies if that happens I close my doors. It's easy if you are a O/O however when you are a small fleet owner it's very hard.

The problem we have is the O/O they can afford to run # $1.50 per mile. O/O should be saying "NO" to cheap freight. I need $1.40 just to cover my expenses. Therefore I need a minimum of $2.00 a mile and sometimes I take a less amount because my trucks have to move.

I don't know how your rates are however there is no room for me to pay detention time for my drivers. For example 200 mile trip paying $600 by the time I pay for fuel, drivers pay, CPP, WCB, UI, Ifta, and insurance there is only $200 left for the company.

If we are on time for our appointment why should I pay the driver, why is it the companies fault.
