This is a dumb question, but I didn't have an answer. A friend asked me if Central was hiring experienced drivers yet, or are they only hiring experienced drivers as Fleece ops?

Hey Norcal, I forget what they were paying us as company but when we were leasing it was a whopping $.89 a mile.
I would get with Smadronia. They are running teams and are currently with Central. A lot of stuff can change in a short amount of time in the trucking industry. I know they were having problems getting miles and if that's the case then team driving really isn't worth it. When we were at Central we literally could not keep up with what they were giving us but like I said it could have changed by now. We had a planner who only had 5 teams. That can make a big difference if you have a dispatcher instead. We were expected to average 1000 a day! Any way see what Smadronia has to say about it. You are probably going to get way more accurate stats from them.

What's a service failure? If you are late on a load?

WOOO WHoo I got my CDL and will be heading to Conley a week from Sunday..

Thanks Chompi and Smadronia for all the great info regarding teams. It seems CRS pays their teams super low. Guess I will be along long enough to get my experience and bail after that. Or I could try to get on the Kraft fleet out of Stockton. Well see how that one goes.

well back in school again passed the permit test we had several people need to have issues resolved and the training staff has been great of the three or four trucking companys that train as well i would have to say that central has the best program you dont have to pay for your trip here you dont have to pay for your lodging and the training pay with your trainer is 450 per week other companys pay 350 per week and you might have more training after that etc other companys dont pay for your trip there or pay the lodging as well...im sure many of us newbies will end up some where else for better pay but for the first year or two central seems the best way to go..
revslev Thanks this. -
Justin is handling midwest fleets. My first couple of weeks as O/O and i got low miles, every time i turned around i was sitting. Now for the time being, miles are better. Not what they should be, but closer than I was. My impression of Justin is so/so right now. I would like to give him a fair shot, but if i am getting screwed and I am O/O then gotta go.
