I took another route.. First off I had my spiral notebook, i kept addresses, and trip info in it, along with every time i popped my brakes or state lines.. kind of like a journal. but i also had a whiteboard i velcro'd to my visor. it allowed me to quickly write down my info and keep moving.. so milages, routes and other things i never had to take my eyes off the road or wipe my windows down.

i dont fill out trip env now, but i can say before i stopped i was sick of them, i was doing a trip env + a CDM for everytime my truck moved... i was getting about 5-6 envelopes a day.. too much ink.

The trip envelope is very simple. The way I do the miles is just right down the miles when i cross state lines and at the end of the trip just sutract backwards for the miles.Highways traveled and miles takes about 5 min to complete. On a long trip I write my fuel stops and catch my miles up at the end of the day. Then at the end of the trip your almost finished with TE.Everyone has a different system just stick with something simple that u like.Just remember that TE is money. If you want your money to be right take time and look over your TE and make sure everything is right.
