Hi!
'04 Volvo with ISX 570 major engine failure.
driver say that engine start overspeeding, he turned off ignition but engene kept accelerating till he cut fuel line.
Metering valve fault caused engine overspeeding, but shut off valve was bad and did not stall the engine.
to change valves is easy, but what internal damage may get engine if ran over tachometer
seems to me repare cost may be higher used engine price...
Any tips, guys!

could at least pull the valve cover and oil pan to inspect, might get lucky, bar the engine over and watch the valve train moving and bottom end.

I found turbine ruined. Driver says that may be turbine oil leak caused overspeed but why engine stalled when fuel line was cut?
Tommorow owner gonna tow trucktor to Odessa (it is 150 miles) to drop oil pan and inspect.... but seems to me I gonna find him used N14 on JY and do engine swap -
