If you go to the Werner trucking website they have a pretty good explanation of how to use split breaking, not that hard.

Hanging up the training hat. I have had enough. Going to ride around solo for awhile and see if things are really as bad here as I think they are. The icing on the cake was dropping a student the day before thanksgiving 150 miles from home, then his wife had to drive half the night after working all day with a 5 year old to pick him up. What happened to getting students within 70 miles of home??? I have heard more stories of students dropped on ramps and rest areas than I care to talk about. It just goes to the center of my argument that Roehl has NO respect for their drivers.

I know that out of my four trainers 3 hung it up and went back to running as a solo. These were the 3 good ones.

I respect that you are done... It's a shame tho because now who knows who is training them...
Goes to show you Pa that this place quotes the rules when it suits them... They tried to get me to drive 2+ hours and I simply did not go... lol I'm close... 1 year... 120000!!! If I can!!!!! lol Heck I'm on my 4th FM already... Not because of me, but they were not prepared to hire all the drivers they have... I better stop... zipping it for now... Good luck with the solo... they gonna steal your condo now? Put you back in a POS with paper logs... lol

Well I'm finishing up my orientation tomorrow morning and I'll be waiting for a trainer for my eval 1. I came on here looking for some encouragement because I am a little scared, this is a HUGE change for me, but then I read the above posts and I'm discouraged. I hope I don't get dropped of 150 miles from home because I don't have anyone to come pick me up.

furthest i ever was from home on dropoff was about 40 miles. i would think it had alot to do with ur home location as well.. but i dont really know.. im sure u will do fine. just remeber if u are having problems with thee trainer. call the office and let them know more times then not they will get u a different one.

Well after a 30 minute long meeting in Marshfield they want me to take a "break" from training. Then make a decision about what I want to do. I did get to air my complaints, and I think they listened, question is will it do any good. Training people who really do want to do this job is a good time, it is the people who are here because they won't get unemployment checks anymore if they don't try something, they are the ones that make me crazy. I wish there was a way to make people understand what this job is all about. I love to drive, as long as they give me something to haul and just leave me alone. So I got my "new" old truck back, I was in a loaner cause the tranny took a crap. Go figure. So now I ride around solo til after the first of the year. Maybe by then I will have regained enough of my sanity to try training again.
