now only thinkg I run for is dairy queen...LMAO -
Sleep apnea has nothing to do with size, a friend of my wife's husband was about your size and he died from sleep apnea.

I am 5'6 and I come in at 250lbs. The only thing on me is high blood pressure and arthritus in my right hip, I can work and climb in and out with no problems.Do I need to loose weight? hell yes I do,but it isnt always as easy as some people make it. We have a job that keeps up sitting for up to 11 hours a day, so finding the best way to exersize can be a little hard. But this shouldnt keep your friend from finding work.

just start out small, dont think you gotta lose weight, dont even think about losing weight. i've lost 30 pounds in the last few months, and more importantly kept it off, with out gaining anything. my biggest thing was eating out so i go to the grocery store, i no longer eat out when i'm working now which saves me tons of money and calories. i stock up on food, even junk food, trying to break the habit of calling up and ordering something because we all know eating out is expensive and not healthy.

Oh I agree that eating out is a bad idea. I also went to the store and got what I need heck for 50 dollars I always had more than I needed. But every so often it is ok to have a meal at places like T/A's country kitchen or the petro. I am finaly going back out to drive so I will avoid the fast food joints at pilot and loves ect... Like many of you I have seen people that are in my mind just way to gig. In fact I was at the pilot in laredo tx and as I was walking to the building, I was stoped by a driver and he paid me 50 dollars to fuel up his truck because he could hardly get in and out, yes he was that FAT I would guess at least 400lbs. We need to take care of ourselves way better than that.

I had sleep apnea since my late twenties at 5'10" and 185. So does my brothers two kids in their early thirties and normal body weight. Fat just makes it worst.
Being fat catches up with you in your 40's. I can't stress enough to watch your sugar and fat intake. Americans and especially truckers eat a terrible diet. Fast food and restaurants could care less. Even at the grocery store you have to shop smart. They all make bad stuff to please your taste buds for higher sales. It's an easy trap to fall into and hard to get out. -
What if you drive a wrecker and your weight is what keeps the steering axle on the ground?
I think then you should get paid more because you can tow heaver stuff.
