Well, If I remember correctly, Perkins picked up the flatbed division around the end of Summer 2008. So anybody at Perkins over 2 years, right now, won't be on the flatbed side.

I guess what it boils down to is attitude. A drivers attitude can either be his/her biggest asset or it can be their detriment, it's as simple as that. Those that want to run the right way and run their business as if they own it are going to do good but those who still think they are outlaw cowboys will always end up south.

I can say at least on my part that eLogs help a driver to run legal because now it's more important than ever to plan a trip and plan your downtime because eLogs doesn't miss a step. It knows everything the truck is doing and everything the driver is doing so now I have no fear of the system because through trip planning, I'm already legal and all the eLog system does is back me up. The feature I most like about it is once I start my work day, I set it once and forget it and don't touch it again until my work day is finished. I don't worry about what it's doing because it's automatic and all I have to do is manage what I do with absolutely no thoughts whatsoever about logging during my work day. If I pull across a scale that wants to see my log, I simply ask for their name and fax number then 2-minutes later a copy of my logs is sent to them.

As for longevity here at Perkins, right now anything goes. I've only got 11-months under my belt here with no complaints towards Perkins in anyway so pretty much I'm not counting my time anymore. I don't know how long I will work here because at present it could be my retirement in 10-15 years from now. I'm in no hurry to go anywhere and I'm quite very happy with the way business is here so unless I die tomorrow, I will be leased to Perkins until such time that I can't physically do the job anymore. I have never in my 26-yrs as a commercial driver felt this sense of security before. My driver manager assigns me my loads everyday, I go out and get them done then get back home. It's so routine that I no longer think about it.

That pretty much wraps it up as I'm very happy here.

Well, good luck with that. But you probably would have had better luck filing for unemployment.

    Unless you quit.

:biggrin_2559:Ya also need to let everyone know you make no money ! I know you don't so stop acting as if you do. I ran more that that for those clowns and still never received a check as did many other hard working drivers who told Perkins to kiss their back side. Your full of it as for a good business head if you had one you would not be at Perkins again (MATH) also do not forget you will owe:biggrin_2559: all the Taxes for the money you never saw come I.R.S. time.

There's plenty of people that come to Perkins but can't hack it. And yet there's still hundreds here that can.
If you made no money, as you claim, then it's YOU that jacked it off.

As for me, there is no better place to be out there. So this is the place for me for now.
I always keep my eyes and ears on the job market. As far I can see, you're lucky to get 2000 miles per week as a company driver.

Did I say that I'm making fat settlements every week? NO!

It's ludicrous to think that someone works at a company for 3 years and never makes any money. That's really asinine! And yet, you make that assertion.

You say that I'm full of it, but your own words prove the pot is calling the kettle black!
If YOU would have had a good business head, you would have gotten your own accountant. I did. She's the second best investment I've made in the trucking industry!
BTW, EVERYTHING related to the truck and trucking is tax deductible. So, you don't pay taxes on money you never made. If you did your own taxes or used the tax service that Perkins recommends? You're a fool! That's all that can be said about that.

I'm full of it? But you're the one whom thought he could run with the big dogs when REALLY he should have stayed on the porch, with the rest of them J.B., Weiner, and Swift drivers!

I'm STILL here and STILL making it. You're the loser that's not.

    'nuff said!

Only a dam fool works for free! Perkins may pay some of its butt kissers or something to that effect however never do they pay those drivers who the lure in scam and screw, I ran my own business trucking and did fine as for your great concern over business management,I in addition I managed 200 employees and GOV contracts so I do believe my experienced in managing out ways your idea of good business scene. Pekins is a criminal based scam, man I would like a forensic accountant to look at their books.

JAB; You guys crack me up when you talk about the virtues of eLogs and how "NOW" they will keep you straight on your hours. I lurk on these forums and am a retired airline pilot. do you really want to know about being monitored as far as hours and how much you can legally work? In addition to voice recorders and flight deck recorders the gov'mint wanted to put cameras on the flight deck to monitor us--hasn't happened yet but eventually it will. Truckers only have themselves to blame for eLogs. So many on these forums admit to cheating in one way or another. To those who do it the right way, I salute you. The rest of you better figure it out real quick or you'll be just reading about being a trucker.
