Thomasville Furniture (Cooper Home), Plano, IL. Small sign in window, next door to March Kitchens. Recessed dock, (only 1 dock) narrow drive to back into off a four lane road w/suicide lane. I tried to blind side it with no luck. Ended up turning around and coming into oncoming to driver side back. The warehouse guys will NOT come out and stop traffic for you, matter of fact that was the first thing they told me when I got there.

Places like that are so fun! I'll stop in the middle of the road with the 4 ways flashing, when a get a break in traffic block all lanes and piss off the 4 wheelers..:biggrin_25522:

Hauling groceries the last few years you get used to it but it still is a pain!

Another place i hate is Food Lion Distribution in Salisbury NC...I waited 11 hours to unload there one time and was an hour early for my appt.

MDI in Hickory NC is good, plenty of parking and can sleep there overnight.
Same with Harris Teeter in Indian Trail,NC.

I had to do that once recently at a place here is Socal. I was picking up 42k of carpet padding to be recycled. A small little place. Guy tells me I have to go around the back, back down the alley and into the yard. Turns out I had to use the middle turn lane, back into the alley, and blindside into the yard and into a VERY tight spot between two other trailers....took a couple shots, but got it in there.

This is located in Petaluma Ca. they get a load of flour every Sunday night, the GPS will take you right to it and then go down the narrow drive/parking lot to the back, they had me unloaded quicker then it took me to get into their dock, I am sitting here now in their lot taking my 10:

Ok this is a busy place, lots of beer out of there, maybe this is where I should suggest that you get a yellow green or orange safety vest, as this and many other places we go require us to wear them when we are on their property, if you don't have one they will give you one that is like a one time use deal, before you get there you should check to see if your load is ready, do that by calling their load line @ 1-866-857-5749 and put in the long number they give you, this recording will tell you if the load is resdy and when it waswas ready, now when you get there you go in and show the guard your license and give them the load number, they will ask if you have a safety vest or if you need to borrow one, they will they inspect the inside of the trailer you are dropping and tell you to slide the tandems all the way back, then you go find a spot to drop it, you go in. The. Tur. Left take the firrst left and try to find a spot to drop it in the back row, then they have you come back out and weigh the bob tail and then they give you your pick up trailer number, while I am back dropping my empty I scoop out the trailers that are back there just in case it is one of those that you are taking, then they tell you it is in this same lot which 95% of the time it is but if not then you need to go back to the intersection where you made the second left and take a left(west) go to the end of that and look at all of the trailers that are north of there if not there go further north over the railroad tracks and find the loading dock that faces west and look at the trailers that face that, they are very accurate with the trailer numbers you are supposed to take out of there, for example I was looking for #2419L well in the dropped area was 2469L so I went back to the guard shack after looking at every trailer there twice, as I was not aware of the other 2 places, then once you find your load you are not finished yet, I would suggest at this point to make a guess and slide your tandem a bit and then you go back out and scale on the exit scale and if you guessed right then you go in and they ask you if the bulk head boards are in place with straps and if not you get to do it, this is the plastic boards that keep the back end of the load from falling over etc. If you have any wuestions feel free to contact me. This place sits right on the river, the silos you can't miss if you just dropped a load of beer@ Shelby Dist. You go back up the main drag do not go down River Dri e as there is a very low railroad over pass that you will not make with a 13' 6" trailer go back up to 26th Ave. And go left towards to river, as you pass the silos look down past them and there is a warehouse where there are 3 docks that is where you will be loaded, go down past there on the river side and go in bacvk and yes there is plenty of room to turn around park your truck and take the long number in as well as your license, they will normally tell you when X pull out you pull in, they load you really quickly with 2 forklifts going at a time and you go rignt back out the same way you came in. Again if you have any questions feel free to contact me. TD24

I've been up and down River Dr., from end to end (it seems) and there is no low bridge. There is, however a low bridge that is on a little street that turns OFF of River Dr. I turn right out of GM, turn left onto River, follow it along for a couple miles to..hmm can't remember the name...Central maybe? Turn right there, go a couple miles to I15. Seems the quickest easiest way to me....but what do I know? I only drive 400 miles a day now on a regular route....

Ditto Ive ran that thing end to end, no bridge, you definatly dont want to run that way though, its tight there but no bridge, leaving I always right right down River road to central as Warp said, then cut to the 15. Always seemed easier to get out than in.
