Central Refrigerated Truck Stop

hahaha Mr. DOT thought he was going to get me today at Home Depot. I think someone called the police because I was in the shopping center parking lot just parked for 2 hrs since Home Depot wouldnt take me early. Finally they started unloading the xmas trees and in rolls Mr. DOT. He drives around the lot passes my truck turns around and stops at my truck. Then he parks to the side for about 45 minutes I did a quick walk around to keep an eye on him and he left 5 minutes after that.

 

I'd rather just have permission. If I can't get it I will do without the dog.. Who knows maybe they will change the policy again.

 

I feel sorry for you. Nastiest truck stop in VA.

 

"BigRigSteve" (bigrigtrucker dot com) had a cat for many years. He just pulled the cat out of the truck a couple months ago.

Correction: HE just pulled his cat out of the truck a couple months ago. Called his cat "TK" (Truck Kitty). BTW, if you haven't checked out his site, you should. He is one AWESOME photographer. I just ordered his 2011 calendar.

 

I really like this truck stop. Best steak I have found on the road and the price is right.
Shower was clean and food is good. I never go to the J or the Pilot (now loves).
Only to the old Petro. It is better now that it is independent again. And since it sells J fuel I got my shower on my pilot card.

 

I hope this is the correct place to post this.. I am new to this forum but not new to forums so I am sure if it is not, I will hear about it form a moderator.

My wife and myself are "Semi-Retiring" (sorry about the pun) and want to see the country (and get paid to do it). So we are going to go into Truck Driving.
Twenty+ years ago I used to drive truck (owner operator) and we have decided to get back into it.
Central Refrigerated is one of the companies that we are looking into.
Now I know every company has people that you could beat with a gold rope and would still complain about it not being platinum and that every company has problems in their administration and management.

What I am looking for is what is the general feel of the company, good or bad?

What is some of the issues I should look for or watch out for?

Hey, question for you Central drivers out there, may be a dumb question, but I'm a newbie. Does Central's company trucks come with CB's in them already? Or do you have to supply your own?
