I've read many comments here about these ridiculous laws. I've read the stories about being hassled by the man in the middle of the night in defiance of DOT mandated 8 hours sleepy time. How bad has it gotten, really? How often are they shaking you down to make quota because they know you are an easy mark? You guys have friends who are truckers. What stories are they sharing?
Anti Idling enforcement... how bad?

New York state can be a pain in the ##*, at some rest stops they ask you to shut down in the cold or heat. I just say no and give the ticket to my company to pay. Company doesn't say anything, just pays it.
Your company may be different, so be careful.

I see you found this place Mark...it's a good board. Just another good example to go with your company.

Quiet. hundred trucks and none idling. Used to like starting up at sunrise, loud freightliner...

It's a bad law when there's no other way for the driver to keep warm or cool. I would think that when the truck stops install all of the systems to hook to all of the trucks the inforcement will be minimal. Something needs to be done so the driver does not need to run the diesel for comfort then the law would make sense.
