I don't think the 150 is out of line. It's a dirty job and can be miserable if the pins don't come out and you have to torch them. When I first started out # 20 years old I used to change them for my first boss and we had some excitement at times. Torches, burning air lines, dripping grease on fire It was probably a good thing we worked outside. Good times LOL About the kingpins I'd ask to see it when it all apart They shouldn't have to resleeve the axle with 25 thou of play. Usually when you have 1/4" of play at the top of the wheel then they get into sleeving the axle. I'd definitely want them to show me the wear in the axle before I ok'd it.

I trust the mechanic working on the rig. He told me they never were sleeved. But the kingpin I guess is supposed to fit with resistance and it essentially falls out. At least thats how it was explained to me. They did offer to assemble w/o doing the sleeves but while it will be under DOT limits, it will wear faster...so it would be prudent to replace the sleeves..

I am up to five stones myself. The last one I sat in the ER without checking in until I passed it. #### they hurt. Doc told me that it is worst then having a baby. Only good thing you don't have to take care of a stone for 18 years!!! :biggrin_255: I hope your truck is trouble free when you hit the road. I cured my truck problems by replacing buying parts with a truck payment. Went from a 1998 Volvo to a 2007 W900l KW.

I have no desire for truck payments...some of my buddies are around $2k/mo and that's not something I want to deal with.

    Buying a KW was a smart choice...:biggrin_25514:

    EDIT:
KW just called me. Looks like ECM cant be reprogrammed w/o taking it out and sending it in.
He got my Sleeves installed and kingpins installed.
They are still working on the 5th wheel. Spent most of the evening so far trying to get the thing off. I guess the bolts are rather seized in place.
They are honoring the $150 quote even though they already have way more time than that into it....I told him to take his time.
    No hurry...

Everything is done on the rig but the alignment. Since I want a specific person to do that, it might take until next week pending his schedule....It has now passed DOT totally legal. Finally...

Man, you're truck is brand new now! What an ordeal. I'm glad things are taken care of and that should give you tremendous peace of mind.
