Here's one that just came to mind. I'm watching television or listening to a conversation, and a place name is mentioned. It could be Vienna, Rome, Bratislava, Salt Lake City, London, Vancouver, Casablanca or Kiev, and I've been there; not only that but the memories come flooding back, and I remember being there. Some things are worth more than money.

"you can stop and eat when you want, eat what you want, listen to the music you want, stop where you want you get to see family and friends you may never see otherwise"
Pilots and railroad workers don't have that luxury. And if we drive for the right company, we can usually choose our route, based on weather, scenery, traffic, or where we want to stop.

And how about delivering a piece of equipment to a small business, built up by the owner, especially in a small town? His word is his bond, and they trust you. They will let you drive one of their pickups into town to get lunch while they process the paperwork or payment. And they are happy to see you arrive - It is almost like Christmas for them.

You are so right....they are good folk!!!

That is why I like working for a small company and for an Ag company...I deal with honest people, people that really are the nicest and best people in the country. Farmers and small businesses that have worked and built up a company or farm that they are proud of and it shows.

I had a customer ( a farmer's wife) that said she was sorry she did not get up early enough to bake some cookies for me!!! I was hauling corn for them. This sort of thing is normal in rural Iowa....and in all of the small towns in the midwest and the south that I have traveled to....

This is one of the great things about being truck driver!!!

I really like yours. Except I would change it to a friendly voice.
Other things that indicate a good day is not too much of a cross wind.
    New scenery almost everyday.
I really like driving, so the fact that I don't have to pay for gas is really nice :)

Seeing a small herd of deer right close by. Had a load of concrete inlet boxes to a golf course construction site yesterday morning way back in the wood and hills. Got unloaded and on the way out about 7-8 deer were moseying thru the woods. Just had to stop and watch for awhile.
What I hate is, they are carving up this beautiful woody hill country to build million dollar houses. When I see that kind of area, I see "horse trails", not houses.

You got me thinking, my heart melts when I see the horses running through the fields lol. I do also love watching the wildlife too though.
