With the unknowns regarding CSA and the HOS, times are really scary to be playing this game. Not to mention the unknown forthcoming environazi laws that states may legislate in the future. This business of trucking has really gone down hill in the last few years, sole SOLE blame is with the government.

A guy looking to buy new trucks/trailers really cant plan SHAT, knowing that the rules change every 6 months depending on political winds, who needs re-election, and lawsuits.

Americans hating their government is an all time high in my lifetime, and opinion.

no the blame is with us we are the ones that could have gotten together and put a stop to all of this but most truckers are contented to bend over and take what ever comes from the government we have always had the power but most are just afraid to use it

I agree with you on many levels, but I am here to tell you that my represenative Herb Kohl (D) a multi multi millionaire (to name one) has his own adjenda and votes against my wishes. And I vote btw

We are ruled by those with POWER AND/OR MONEY. Trust me I dispise those in office who have both.

I dislike the "bend over and take what ever comes from the government" comment. I am one single guy with a modest income who's up against the millionaires who purchase their seat, with an ideology that for some whacked reason that the middle class should take on more regulations and taxes.

I could have a bazillion safe driving miles in my 18 wheeler, but some insecure 25 year old chick who gets elected to congress by her constituents in Detroit or Chitcago will have more weight than me, by her vote.

Absolutely right on! Its because the monied, wealthy class wants all of the power, and the way to keep it is to eliminate the middle class - and otherwise make us powerless.

Why hasn't the new HOS been announced? IMO, that idiot La Hood has something against all truckers and the industry. He's overruled the FMCSA and has proposed a draconian re-write of the HOS rules. OMB and the White House are not sure what to do about it - because they know the ATA and the industry will take it right back to court.

Don't think so? The latest propaganda out of the ATA is about the gains in trucking safety and why the FMCSA has no basis to adjust the HOS because of that. They're positioning for a court battle.
