Some of us are here to learn and ask questions. Its easy for some of you becasue you know the answer! If you do dont give us vague things like do more research. GIVE AN FACTUAL Opinion! I have talked to a few other new people and were getting sick of the crap from some of you. Others have been helpful. If you dont like it, DONT COME TO THE NEW TRUCKER SECTION for pete sake!

I read so many post hoe the Trucking Industry would be better if truckers were more of a brotherhood and not so much of a grandam bunko meet! This forum is show that to all of us!

    Stand united OR FALL!:biggrin_25516:

I realize that you're intense about obtaining the information you want. And yes, many of us often post with some humor so perhaps you've been offended. I'm sorry if that's happened.

Here's the thing: not always is it easy to give a simple answer to questions concerning the trucking industry. So much depends on the specifics for each person. And frankly very VERY few people have information on every single company, school, etc.

I myself can give you information concerning Swift, but I really can't about other companies. So it isn't that I'm trying to be a horse's patootie when I say "you need to research" it's that......well.......you need to research. The information just isn't in existence to be handed to someone on a 4 page word document. *smiles* And yes I put humor in that answer. sorry.

Also, to be blunt here since you were blunt with the post: often when many of us answer people........they then tell us we're wrong because they don't like our answer. So we sort of stop answering.

Hang in there, take a deep breath, calm down, and keep in mind that the majority of the people on the Trucker's Report are very nice people and like to help. There are a few jerks.......and some days I'm not sure which group I'm in!

Fact is that when you are new, like we all were at one time or another, not only do you not know the answers, you don't know the questions either.

I would have killed for a resource such as this when I was new at this game. It would have saved me no end.

Ask away, because if I fail a new driver 'cos I couldn't be bothered, then I'm not fit to call myself a professional.

Incidentally, don't think that everything you read on the forum is all there is to know. There are side topics going on in PMs. Some of those side topics include how best to help arrogant newbies who seem to consider themselves a cut above the average trucker.

    Welcome to the industry.

Oh, hell. If humor is going to upset people I'm screwed already. Monty Python is my middle name.

I really do believe the majority try to help those seeking information. And yes there are those of us who discuss how we can actually help those who spit in our faces when we do. LOL I'm sorry if I'm to blunt......but that's the honest truth.

So....................what is it that you're asking about tonight Doc? Maybe if we start with that then we can work our way up to more questions. Because that's how it was and still is for me. The more I learn........the more I realize how much more I need to know.:biggrin_25525:

Here's an example of what I mean, Doc. Someone was asking about how best to descend hills without burning the brakes out. So as I was in the fortunate position of hitting some good, steep descents today, I shot some video. Now I'm not saying that my method of clawing my way down the hill was the best one, or the only one, but I survived to tell the tale, and the truck still has some brake linings, so there's a resource for you, and anyone else who wants it, once I get it uploaded to YouTube.
