yeah i got extra kisses shortly followed by a back hand when i back talked. oh man the good ole days. i once told my mother to F off when i was 10 and she said "oh really. hm." which was a very odd response since my mother never responded to me mouthing off. she promptly returned to my room with a bottle of soap. she asked me how it tasted and being the smart ### i was, i said "its really not that bad" and i caught a swift slap across the face.![]()

It won't be easy as your age will be the biggest strike against you but if you go out and apply in person at any buisness you can find that even appears to own a truck, you might be able to get a job driving one. Its not going to come to you and you can't sit at a computer and do it. Most companies won't even consider you because you are to young to be covered by their insurance. Even if they can hire you they would rather hire someone older. You can't do the long haul thing so you should pay particular attention to companies that haul their own product with straight trucks or daycabs like bakeries, newspapers, garbage ect. -
in any event, if you do get a CDL class A license, you might find it difficult finding work, but maybe not, we will not know this for sure. we only know that under the age of 21, you cannot go out of state. even if you were to obtain a yardman's job (moving trailers through out a facility), this would pay well, maybe even the 16 per hour you are getting now, but for at least a 40 hour work week.....frankly i did yardman work, and i loved it, wish my company didn't lose the account....i'd still be there, making a mere $900. (and that was back in 2007) weekly.......yes, $900 weekly.....(before taxes), and it was great.....(for me)...i imagine if they did not lose the account, i'd be up to $1,000 per week.....NOT TOO SHABBY........and NO TRAFFIC, DOT, or CUSTOMERS, or road construction to deal with,,,,ever....>!!!
so good luck, keep us informed. -

"I don't care.....about anything." Heck, many learned that from their parents.
I believe though that for the most part, it is the parents fault. Certainly not all parents. For example, my first wife tried to be a great mother to her children, but they went to "the darker side" anyways. Peer pressure can lead children astray also, but a strong family unit can help fight and diminish that affect. An example of poor parenting. My sisters children would demand something out in public, and my sister would cave into them all the while being told by her child to "shut up" WTF?! I would ask her, "you let your child talk to you that way? Her response? "Well, they are tired" or "she doesn't mean it" or "I know, but....." But what?! Now that child is a 28 year old spoiled little brat who still talks jack to her Mom, who still lets her get away with it, and says "that's the way she is." Well, no kidding! I wonder why? BTW, the child tries to treat. her husband the same way. Thank God he doesn't just roll over too.
Children develop their attitudes by learned from their parents at a very early age. This attitude of: "I have to give Jimmy and Jane everything they want so they feel loved" exhibited by parents is not beneficial to a child's development. Parents are too soft and lazy in raising their children. Instead of disciplining their children, this "speak softly to, don't upset your child and give them anything they want" form of parenting has caused more harm than good. There has been too much coddling of children by parents of what I call the "Saturday Night Fever generation" (My generation..ugh) I really think all the "let's party, do drugs and sexual freedom revolution people who are now parents has caused society to swing way too far over into "me..me..me..who cares about you" attitude of today. This sprouted the current lazy, irresponsible, selfish, me-first generation of today, especially in the young men of today. Heck, you can see that attitude here on the TTF! The young adult women do not seem to be as clueless. Sons who live in Mommies basement would rather play video games all day than move out and work. They know they can, because Mommy won't show some real love and tell their son's to "get off your lazy ### and get a job!". Now, after stating the above, not all kids are like this, of course. There are hardworking, responsible kids in this country.
####, I need more detergent; my soapbox is empty. -
To this day, when I see kids act the way they do, I actually remind my Mom how I appreciate the way she...ahem....."abused" me when I was a kid.
