I think that's the one - just south of the Ashburn exit and west of I-75.

That is the reason we drive, besides making some money.
In AZ, Williams of I 40, just park along the street, Bussines 40, and have a coffee or a meal in one of many restaurants. You can also take a train ride to the Grand Canyon, complete with a robbery
along the way.
Tombstone, a little bit of the I 10, about 25 miles, but they let you park anywhere but the main drag, that is pedestrian only. There are some suprising good and fairly cheap setaurants, and some saloons. All the action stops pretty early though.
Most small towns along I 10 or 40 out west are kind of easy too park, and, except for CA, they leave you alone. -
Craters of the Moon National Monument. Come off I-15 onto ID-20 and follow your nose. I believe certain drivers use the route to avoid the Idaho scales, but that may be incorrect information. In any case, I've met the DOT on that road so it doesn't seem like a good idea to use it for that reason.
Back to the point of this post. (Culled from Wikipedia.)
Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve is a national monument and national preserve located in the Snake River Plain in central Idaho, U.S.A. It is along US 20 (concurrent with US 93 & US 26), between the small cities of Arco and Carey, at an average elevation of 5,900 feet (1,800 m) above sea level. The protected area's features are volcanic and represent one of the best preserved flood basalt areas in the continental United States.
The Monument was established on May 2, 1924. In November 2000, a presidential proclamation by President Clinton greatly expanded the Monument area. The National Park Service portions of the expanded Monument were designated as Craters of the Moon National Preserve in August 2002. It lies in parts of Blaine, Butte, Lincoln, Minidoka, and Power counties. The area is managed cooperatively by the National Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
The Monument and Preserve encompass three major lava fields and about 400 square miles (1,036 km2) of sagebrush steppe grasslands to cover a total area of 1,117 square miles (2,893 km2). All three lava fields lie along the Great Rift of Idaho, with some of the best examples of open rift cracks in the world, including the deepest known on Earth at 800 feet (240 m). There are excellent examples of almost every variety of basaltic lava as well as tree molds (cavities left by lava-incinerated trees), lava tubes (a type of cave), and many other volcanic features.HFC Thanks this. -

The potash mine is actually over to the west of Arches NP, between that park and Canyonlands NP. The Potash Road turn-off is just to the north side of the bridge over the Colorado river heading out of Moab; the road heads south to the mine from the turnoff. If you stay on highway 191 heading north after you cross the bridge, the turnoff to Arches is just up the road.
The mine is outside the boundaries of either park, but close enough that you can shoot right over to either one. Dead Horse Point State Park is also in the neighborhood. That part of Utah is one of my main playgrounds!
