Got home yesterday around 6pm. I had to spend an extra day in Pittston waiting on my load to be ready. Wasn't a big deal, they put me in a motel and fed me. I bobtailed over to Lewisburg to pick up my loaded trailer on Friday. My week has been preplanned already. I deliver at noon on Monday in Punta Gorda, then reload in Belle Glade with a load of lettuce going to our customer in Florence NJ for Wednesday. As is with this time of year you need to take your loads and go. Louie told both Gary and I we will be loading for the coast on Wednesday afternoon. The way it should work out is that we will be empty out west next Monday, reset, load and deliver back in Pottsville or Milton on the following Monday then reload and go home for Christmas. On paper it all sounds good, unless old man winter says otherwise, in any event, I have enough time to do this and be home for the holiday. Right now I'm thinking of the near future. I know my delivery will take at least 2 hours to complete and my reload is always a couple of hours to do. Then I have a tight schedule to get to Jersey for noon on Wednesday. This is why I like working here, I can actually plan my week. When I get home that will be the end of the year and I'll post my year end numbers for all to see. Stay safe all, God Bless!

For sure, I'll be in the yard Wednesday afternoon. I take it you've been to AEP before?

First off you are allowed to drive more than 11 hours in a day. All the regs state is you must have a 10 hr break after you have driven 11 hours (within a 14 hour time frame).

Couple that with a strong fast truck running out west where the speed limits are 70 and 75 mph and you can easily exceed 4000 miles as a solo.

For example I have a truck that will run the speed limit and just logging 11 hrs per day in 6 days gives me 66 hrs of driving. That leaves 4 hrs for drops, hooks, and fueling. during that 6 days.

    66 hrs of drive time # 60 mph=3960 miles
    66 hrs of drive time # 65 mph=4290 miles
    66 hrs of drive time # 70 mph=4620 miles

Hustlers and road dogs (like me) do this on a regular basis. Some guys can actually burn through 70 hrs in about 5 days. Got to learn to work that book son.
