There will be more of this everywhere. As the fed tightens its belt more states will get less funding, in turn states will have to tighten up funding to counties which will be passed on to the cities and local munincipalities..

It will be a difficult lesson for many localities to learn that there is no free lunch.

Camden is a poor area to start with, it was a heavy manufacturing city and thrived in the 1950s, but NJ thought itd be a great idea to tax the #### out of business and make harsh new air laws, and the manufacturing people moved. Now its just a ghost town of empty railyards, abandoned parking lots, and large former manufacturing business buildings. Most of it is falling apart. I was actually there when one of the two last big manufacturing plants caught fire and closed shop. The place burned to the ground, and it took 5 ####### years to clean the rubble. The other large manufacturing place is Campbell Soup. They were still there last I heard, and Hargrove recycling was still there, but thats about all thats left in terms of 'jobs' in that area aside from small shops, and the aquarium.
