Can you still dropped off your cargo? I suspect that I"ll get placed out of service or ticketed if I dont have it. Thats the second mistake I made. I gave my boss the bill of lading for the cargo Im supose to drop off tommorw. Was to upset about loosing the other ones and didnt realize that I needed to keep it. Those bill of ladings are really screwing me over. Its my fault tho.

Have your boss fax it to you at the nearest truckstop.

Stuff like that happens. Thats why we have fax machines.

Sometimes if you pickup a loaded trailer, there won't be any paperwork for it. Make those office jockeys do their job and fax it to you.

I think you need to stop, take a breath, calm down and then get organized. Call your boss and ask him to fax it to the nearest truckstop or if you've already stopped for the night fax it to there.

But please calm down, you're going to be alright if you just.....calm down and get organized.

You are really having problems with the most important paper in the truck!
I highly suggest that you have the shipper make a copy of it and you tape the copy to your arse! REALLY!

You need to look at the BOL as the Holy Grail!
The ONLY time it should be out of the logbook holder or the envelope is when it is handed to the receiver or a DOT cop!
    Screw the boss
    the dispatcher
    or even God!
Keep that BOL safer than a virgin walking the parking lot of a truck stop!
It stays with you untill it's handed to that receiver and then you go nowhere until you have it back in your hand with those most important things needed on it.

The signature of the receiver with the case count all received in good condition!

And for you and your bad luck, I would again ask for a copy! Or several!

OR use the new scanner you just bought for that laptop in the truck and scan it to the file for this trip!

No laptop or scanner?? GET ONE before a CB, lot Lizard, food or toys! Really TruckerNate you're having a run of unusual luck with BOL's! In fact have 2 copies made for just in case and keep them all separated!

I've made the same mistake. You are not alone. Stuff like this happens. The fax machine is your friend! (And hopefully your boss...)

    OH! Forgot!
If you get pulled over you'll be sitting for a while and waiting for the police to ask you a ton of questions, search your truck, and wait while they follow the information you gave them about the origins of the load until they are satisfied that you are good and can go.

Figure that a colonoscopy will be more fun that what you're about to go through or maybe a root canal!

Hey, people make mistakes, he asked a legitimate question - at least he asked instead of just keeping his mouth shut about it! No need to be a jerk.
