They are lucky if their truck does 65 now... But the 4000 miles can happen if you get the good loads that is... I would say most avg there is about 3000 if not a little higher then that.. It really depends on who the driver manger is you have.. IF you get one of the ones that dont know jack then your lucky if you get miles at all there...

Truckinshadow I would not call it kissing ### at all, You just have to know how to butter the biscuit, but then again it comes from 22 years driving knowing what you have to do to get the miles to make the money. And when you refer to the trucks that have been turned down you are right, at 65 mph you can still run 715 miles in 11 hours, If you start at 12:00 am run 11 take a 10 and run the 3 hours left you can end up with a 985 day.
I left oakwood Me at 1200 am EST thursday, I pulled into Grapevine Tx at 0530 Saturday EST, 2100 miles got unloaded Monday (spent two days at My Mothers house in Grapevine) and I load out of Ft Worth at (Freezer Hell) Millards for Michigan on Thursday, 1360 miles, not a bad week. But then again as you said I "kissed butt" Which I find to be rather funny as I seem to catch more hell from Safety, Operations and HR than most people. I seem to be under a Microscope at all times, I do the job and I make sure they do theirs, ride me and I will ride them.
I can say this Since the switch of Operations with the 3.5 days and having new DM I have seen that alot of Drivers are favorites, then again we have alot of Winnebago drivers here, you know the ones who want to go here and spend 2 days, go here spend 2 more days etc. and they get what they want, we have a few drivers who think they are above delivering their loads, constants swappers. I just refused a delivery for one of them he is less than 10 miles from the delivery with plenty of hours, yet he wants to take my load and have me deliver his load NOT happening. -
haha Mark you still didnt answer about the BBQ lol
It's all good, and yes I agree the ones that dont want to deliver their own loads when they have the hours totally is uncalled for.. But to me that would come down to the DM putting their foot down and making their driver do what he/she was hired to do... -
well i know that company and they have E-loggs.miles are far and few between.the pay is 36cpm. but they pay 26cpm.the other 10cents is put on your check as not taxable. so your running at 26cpm. have fun. it lasted 6 days for me.but yes the black streated hummer 3. and the short fat guy that picks you up at the hotel is nice. they feed you sub sandwiches for 3-4 days. the short fat guy was there 1st bull hauler. that ran for them.

Iam on my thrid week in cdl school and that is what iam consentrating on backing up -
LOL Maybe, but I truly think its just plain being lazy and not wanting to so it.. I mean yeah some are hard to get into but once you know what your doing then really its not such a big deal, to me its such a small part of the job.. -
Truckin Shadow,
I agree with you 100% it takes time to learn how to back up in many different situations, there is an old saying "what does not kill us will only make us stronger " well that is true in trucking too, From Backing to accidents, we should always be learning something, -
Hello lastride, I may be going to work for helwig. I also have work for them in the past, but only for a about a month then they got bought out by transam. They were OK (transam), but there are better companies. Any way I may see you soon, any other info on them would be great. It has been about 6 years since I worked there.
