Does anyone on here have a DD-16 engine with DEF injection, and if so have you had any winter time issues so far. Looking at purchasing one and very leary about the DEF injection in our rather cool climate. Any real life info would be very much appreciated.

The DEF tanks are heated by recirculating coolant in a stainless steel tube that runs through the DEF tank. This is supposed to prevent if from staying frozen although it will freeze when the truck is turned off. Allegedly there is enough DEF in the system to keep the truck running for upto 200 miles before requiring fluid from the tank.

Just what I have been told and read about this.

Yeah I've studied all the info I can find on these DEF engines. Was just kinda hoping someone had some real world experience. Especially with the DD-16. I've got a DD-15 without DEF and haven't had a minutes trouble with it. Which is more then I can say for my CAT and Cummins with DPF's on them. Thanks for your input though it's appreciated.
