Yeah but it's not like your money stored in a checking/savings account is going to vaporize...
The point about having nationwide access is good but not entirely necessary. Have your pay direct deposited into a checking/savings account or onto your Comdata card if you really want. If you need cash for whatever reason, you can take an advance off your pay when you get fuel (not sure if this is company-specific or any Comdata-using company). Exactly like using an ATM except without the killer fees. Of course some responsibility is required.
Where is the best place to hide money on the truck?

Living off advances from pay is a very bad habit to start. It shorts your actual paycheck (I know you have the cash in hand) and something that is easy is just as easy to become a habit. We all know that a new student really doesn't have a lot of options in the first couple weeks...they haven't had any income during their schooling, and the student pay is bat scat for sure, so the advances to survive those weeks is a given...but after that period, the student should be biting the bullet and trying to spend as little as possible on the road, and socking away whatever he/she can. That is a good habit to strive for...save as much as you can! -
I keep a bank bag with photocopies of my driver license, medical card, medical insurance cards and some extra cash in the truck. The bottom cushion of the passenger seat folds up if you cut the tie strap that holds it down. So I straped the bag to the underside of it and put a new tie strap on the seat.

Sometimes, the best place to hide something, such as small items, cash rolls, coins, watches, jewelry or other valuables is in plain sight. There are a number of manufacturers that sell soda cans, candles, DDV cases, shaving cream cans (and more) with hollow inners that are able to be opened and closed.
Here's a place, though I have no affiliation with them, nor do I endorse any of their products -- posting merely as an example: http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/fake-can-hidden-safe.html
For me personally, I have a cubby that's installed behind an interior body panel.
One thing you don't want to do is use a gutted (or working) piece of electronic equipment for obvious reasons. Another thing, should you decide to go the soda can route and have a portable cooler -- don't keep the can in the cooler unless it's well bolted to the chassis (again, for obvious reasons).
If you own your own truck, I'm sure you can find a safe spot to install something that suits you and is well concealed. If you don't own your truck, you might want to go the portable, small item in plain sight route.
A friend of mine installed a pair of dummy speaker grills and covered the grill holes with epoxy putty. Then sanded and painted to match the actual speakers. The grills remove to reveal two deep welled pockets for valuables.
Hope this helps. -
I just keep it on the comcard or in the bank.If I have cash I keep it on my person and in close proximity at all times ( geez it is money!) and if anybody wants to take it from me then they will have to look ME in the eye to take it from me!

Driver I can tell you exactly where to hide your cash on the truck but first I'm going to need to know the make and model, who you run for, the number on the hood, and where you park it when you ain't in it. That way I can give you my honest opinion on where you ought to stash your money. -
Does anyone remember those little magnetic key holders?
The ones you could attach in any concealed metallic location?
I'm sure there are many places on the chassis of a truck that would be overlooked, even in a determined search.
Get a few of those and stash a few bills in each. -
If it remains in your personal vehicle it is considered a extension of your home from whatever state you reside in.

I keep mine hid right under my holster!
