Hmm, I could say so much about some of the comments. I will say this though. The public school system is what is wrong with today's kids and society.

That is all I am going to comment on that.

Injun, I wholeheartedly agree with you 100%.

LES, thats kinda what i thought.

Kenny your just a student, you give it another 5 years and you'll understand it alot better......

beside all that, when a man puts his situation out in pubic looking for answers, hes not always gonna get just the one he wants to hear...i'm not looking down at the guy, hell i think he must be a decent dad if he i willing to have a kid with the whole time instead of giving the kid away or abandoning the child. no one said hes a bad guy, but we said the idea of raising a kid in the truck is stupid, which it is.

and as far as me being one those people thats whats wrong with the country, i'll tell ya this kenny, i would say your as ignorant as you look.
been trucking my my whole life and i am a 4th generation trucker...i'm sure i dont know what your story is, but i never went to a drivng school to get my cdl, no one painted me a picture of how great driving a truck was so i would go to"school" and become one. i already knew what it was about then, and i know what its about now....and it is not a place to raise a kid out on the road, period.

He's looking for a company that will allow it. He's not looking for a company to deceive.

I know. But what happens if he doesn't find one?

Canuck said Crete allows children in the trucks, but is that just for small amounts of time or for it to be a childs home?

i just got that from there web site--so i am not sure--but for me i would like to take the beast out for a couple weeks in the summer
but on the other hand--i have seen a truck that was teamed by a husband and wife--2 boys under 10 as well in the truck
as luck would have it they rolled over and peeled the roof off of the sleeper and the boys went out in the snow and rocks
thankfully nobody was killed---but they were broken up a bit --pelvis and such and arms and legs

Its sad a guy can't even provide for his family anymore in trucking. Nothing against the family, just the industry.

    Wow, wow, wow.......
I was raised by a truckdriver, that I didn't see much at all. I sure wish I could of spent more time with him, might have stayed out of all the trouble I got into, who knows.

I know this; I raised 5 kids of my own, with my wife of-course and I would have done whatever it takes to ensure that my wife and I were the ones that raised our kids. No one else was good enough, period! Driving a truck was not an option for me when my kids needed me and that was that. I knew from growing up without my dad that driving a truck wasn't an option when I had kids. Now that being said, I say again, "I would have done whatever I had to, to ensure that my wife and I were the ones to raise our kids", period.

I feel quite confident "bean" is looking at all options at this point. I also feel that those on this thread are really just looking out for him and his family but ####, do you have to be so concrete? I mean, we don't know his situation, other than what he has told us. The best we can do is give him the help he needs, the last thing he needs is people that give him grief for asking a question.

Bean, I have seen a lot of companies that will allow you to have your 10 yr old with you, but have never read anything that says you can or cant have two riders. Now if you and your wife both have your CDL than that would be one rider. Again, just not sure on that one. I wish you the best my friend, I sincerely do and Pray the good Lord will show you the path.

I don't know what Crete's policy is but I'm not going to just assume that he's going to break company policy.

As for me, I'm in hopes (and have been praying) that this family finds a solution to their hardship.

i do not recall calling you a "part of the problem". you assumed that. whether it's true is less than a concern to me. all i'm saying is a man wanting to do right by his family is so rare these days, people should not berate him personally. maybe it is a bad choice, but have you ever heard the phrase "the least of two evils"?

ahhh heck. no point in arguing with someone on the net. i'll admit it. i'm under 30 so i must be "as ignorant as i look". you older guys are right about everything, and you definitely did not hand us young people the problems your generations caused. no siree. i just PRAY i can be as wise as you when i grow up. :puke:
