I am very interested in Roehl and am just getting ready to go to school and have applied and will be talking with them. But I have a question that the CB question brought to mind. What about refrigerators? Can we have them? Is an inverter available already are do we have to provide? Etc.

You need to supply a fridge if you want one. They make 12 volt coolers. Sold at almost all truckstops. If you get an inverter dont buy a great big one. A 300 watt will power computer, phone tv etc. A bigger one needs to be hooked to the batteries which gets complicated. They sell all kinds of 12 volt stuff. I use the luch box oven a lot.

xr7conv.I had a cooler in my truck, however it was one of the 12 volt models that plug into a cig.lighter plug.Available at most truck stops for about $125.They work very well. The Roehl trucks are driver freindly units, mid roof trucks for the single drivers,a comfortable bunk, plenty of storage space, and you can stand up in them,I am 6 ft.1 in and had no problems. They have wired in CB antennas, with a power lead to hook up your CB.Air ride seat for the driver, all in all a pretty comortable truck.Oh yeah they are either equipped with bunk heaters or Icon idle systems for keeping you warm at night. When the weather is hot I always left the truck run with the AC on and was never called on it.

IIRC, an inverter bigger than 300 watts has to be installed (for a fee) by the mechanics at Roehl.

Thanks Road Dog, that helps...I hadn't thought of that. I live about a mile off of I-35 just south of Austin. There should be truck stops along I-35 between Austin and San Antonio.

Congrat's on the retirement! What do you plan on doing with your time, besides helping us new people out?

Do any of you flatbed drivers have any info you can give me on Roehls national flatbed fleet? I am going to be driving national flatbed for them and just wanted to know a little about there flatbed fleet from some experianced drivers who have driven for them. What kind of loads do they haul? Will they give you plenty of miles with flatbed? If they are short on runs will they have you take Van or curtain sides?

Just some of the questions I have if anyone has some insight.
