The driver has to pay the tolls to haul the companies freight? Can't that get kind of expensive? Do you get reimbursed?

The cost is $3,700.00 for schooling. You have to pay back half if you complete over 6 months and pay it back in full if you quit under 6 months. I pulled 10 months but wasn't hit with having to pay anythign back sense they broke the contract at the time. This is where you pay attention to the fine print and keep watch on what's going on and anything that changes under company prospective, the contract agreement has been breached. That's why I didn't pay half of the tuition back or get chased by a collection agency and nothing on my credit report for non payment.

Yes you get reimbursed. I haven't heard of a company that doesn't. I did work for a company where you had to fight with them about it though.

They do that because of bonded loads they haul such as some FedEx accounts and some multi-million dollar loads for medical companies. And also to get a Twic Card as they require you to have to drive for them.

I drove for Prime for 10 years and have a million miles safe driving with them. You can still see my million mile plack on the wall. All I can say is read the contract. And understand you the driver pays for everything. And if you run it like they train you to do in their PTC class you will do good. Also if you have a truck that breaks down a lot or getting poor fuel milage you are free to change trucks. Also understand that its not a lease to purchase. It is a straight lease. Also it is best to watch your health and your weight. They are really strict on their medical requirments. If your BMI gets over 38% you will be looking for another job. And if your BP gets higher then 140/90 you will be history too.

You really need to differentiate between a L/O and company driver. You are correct about BP and incorrect about BMI. You won't get hired if you have a high BMI! But if you ate already employed and pack on a few pounds, you will be required to be tested for sleep apnea... And follow the prescribed treatment to keep your job.

Company drivers DO NOT pay for everything. Cash tolls, scale tickets, and lumpers are all reimbursed with a PROPER receipt. Pay attention to your training and you'll learn what needs to be on that reciepts to get reimbursed.

I love all these new drivers.

"Don't complain, work hard and everything could be yours"

This is a common theme for all new drivers to be told before they start driving. It's kinda like taking a mallet to a piece of meat to tenderise before you throw it on the grill.

And what exactly would you know about how Prime treats their drivers? No BS or truckstop c.r.a.p. please...
