Don't forget to change your cabin and bunk filter.
It's almost impossible to get it all out. It gets in the duct work and that's hard to clean out when you have to pull the dash and stuff. New filters will help get clean air circulating some. -
and chain-smoke so hard that RJ Reynolds sends them Christmas cards every year.
Replace the cabin filter and blast a bunch of odor-killer into the ductwork as far as possible. That ought to do a lot to solve the problem. -
Soap, water and elbow grease is the only way your going to kill the smell. Stinky stuff just covers up the smell of other stinky stuff. Unfortunately some guys will close the windows up and puff away on there smokes, I cant stand it when guys do that, and I would send them to the unemployment line if they did that inside equipment I own...

Thankfully, the mattress is new and I left the plastic on until I get the smell out so it doesn't get into the new mattress. Thanks for all the tips. On the other thread RoadMedic sent me, there was a product called "Big D Odor Defogger". Anyone heard of it and know where I can get some? I have never seen it before. Might be worth a try once all else has been scrubbed down. Sad we have to go to so MUCH work for someone else's habit. I think smokers should be required to scrub all this down before they turn IN the truck!

My rig was smoked in for the 1st 2 years it was ran but not after that. However, there was still a distinct odor....
I cleaned everything in my rig with "Awesome". It's a cleaner sold at the Dollar stores.
I replaced the mattress. Cleaned out the entire HVAC system and coils.
I then sprayed this stuff all over my fabrics and stuff:
(It doesnt cover things up...) - Permanantly removes odors. About $6 a bottle.

Swing into a GM dealer and see if the parts dept has any GM Vehicle Odor Eliminator (P/N 12378554) in stock. I've used it when I was at the dealership and I don't think there was an odor it couldn't kill. I think list is like $20/bottle but maybe they can cut you a deal.

Wipe down all the surfaces with SPRAY 9 , take a can of LYSOL and spray it into the air intake ( not for motor ) but for Heater / Ac system and for bunk unit..
-
there is a spray made just for heating/ac duct work---sometimes--you can get actual mold and crap growing in the air intake system for the cab--and this stuff kills and cleans it--kinda has a newish smell --not perfumy---i cant remember the name--maybe check with an ac shop--it wasnt an over the counter type of can
and if you have cab air filters--good idea to change those out as well
