Does anyone have an extra cheap CB they would be willing to donate to WALSTIB (new guy at Watkins). He needs one badly and does not currently have the funds. No one should be driving around this time of year without a radio! If anyone can help him out I know he would be most very appreciative!

i do not personally have an extra one, however, some cb shops may have pretty good used ones for dirt cheap. but maybe someone else can help out.
i just found this as well, some new ones cheaper than at the truck stops...(small compact radios though)

Thanks Rerun. He needs one badly. He's a newbie for Watkins and that situation combined with winter = all the advice he can get! Well, no driver should be out there right now without a radio!

oh i totally agree, i just do not have a spare one myself.
i am sure someone here has one laying around they are not using anymore. even if its an old 23 channel.....man, i had a Johnson, Radio Shack (phone type) 23 channel cb's i wished i had never got rid of. that Johnson was (for me) the best.....green in color, what i seem to remember was a "viking guy" as its logo...????? -
If he's on the west coast (I-5) I could probably dig one up

tell him to check craigslist. 25 dollar radios are on there all the time here in chattanooga.

Hmm. I thought WS trucks are supposed to have CB's equipped when you get the truck. Thats what my paperwork says that I got from them. Maybe he just has to drive to one of their terminals or shops and get one.

This thread makes me proud to share the road with some of you guys. Unfortunately, I can't help with the radio. I don't have one, either. My truck has VHF which is much more useful in the Canadian north.
orion3814 Thanks this. -
I don't have an extra but I just picked up a Midland which looks like it would get him by.
I wasn't even charged for shipping.
