Listen stay away from this company, they are looking for monkey boy'z(steering wheel holders)not real drivers.I have no points, accident's etc,EVER.Well i get down to Knoxville for 2 days, and the orientation guy,who is a total BIGMOUTH TELL'S me,whatever my recruiter told me is not even close as to what really happens out on the road, not even told about the $500.00pay advance, which is an advance, they don't tell you,you must get a hazmat in 6 month's or less, all of which was a huge suprise,i have 1 year and 3 months experience,I was let go because i was to confident in my ability to drive a truck, thats what there excuse was, because they had no other excuse to use, which i was going to leave any way's,just wanted to get my butt home, so smiled and played the game, so i wouldn't be stranded down in Knoxville!!So they rented me a car to get down there, but he tells me that no cars are available, well i called national car rental, and there were plenty of cars for rent,so they sent me home on a greyhound, took me 28 hours to travel 467 miles,it was an absolute NIGHTMARE FOREAL,WOW IS all i can say,SUCH A WASTE OF TIME,SO ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK,THIS IS NOT A BASHING,THIS IS JUST WHAT HAPPENED,And i don't want it to happen to anyone else,You also must be able to take responsibility of truck and tractor, paying for any thing that happens to that truck or trailer, which they don't tell you about,or at least my recruiter din't tell me about till i got down there,These r some weird people here,go ahead i DARE YOU,Go down, but don't say you weren't WARNED,I have never been treated like a nobody,They Will fail in there own time,Don't FAIL WITH THEM!!ENTER AT OWN RISK,AND GOOD LUCK!!:biggrin_25510:

I'm confused about the $500 pay advance. Are you saying you thought it was free money?

I'm confused, sounds like 95% of the over the road companys that are out there. Go to a truck stop and get one of those books with all the jobs in it and open to any page and give em a call. You'll find out real fast that its the same circus different clowns:biggrin_25523:. Good luck but dont make your expectations too high or you'll have lots of let downs. Find a small local company that pays hourly it will work out much better.

So you are saying that after orientation the boss walks out and says to you " you have too much confidence in your driving abilities so we got to let you slide"?.. Did you let the $500 you thought to be "instant no hassle money" be the deciding factor in going there to start with? I can tell you there is no free money going to work somewhere..there is allways a time frame and a hook involved, otherwise the place would be full of drivers coming in doing the orientation and then skipping out with $500 in their pocket. Don't take this the wrong way but something tells me you talk more than listen. Good luck.

Just trying to understand the OP's screen name I think I have it figured out with the 420 numbers which if you're not "chat room, CL or friend finder" savvy means he's making a mary jane hint! Ya know those left handed cigerrettes? That could be why he has a problem understanding that money deal! But I could be wrong too as well I'm only a trucker! LOL!

Good catch, I believe you've got it right.

And here in Colorado, a "MMJ" (scam) state, you don't even have to be "chat room, CL or friend finder savvy" to know what it means...just read the Denver Post online, a dozen articles a week about the whole fiasco, along with ads plastered all over for the special doctors that'll write your "recommendation" and send you away to a "dispensary" for your "medicine" (there is no such thing anymore as weed, dope, reefer or any of that). 420 is now main stream lexicon.

Talk to anyone around here who runs a business that does drug testing, and they'll tell you their biggest problem is finding anyone who can pass.

Well when i went to orientation in Knoxville they put me up in a motel. And paid for two meals a day. They told me about the hazmat endorsement they reemburse you for them. And about the 500.00 dollars you get it on you first paycheck. As long as you stay there ninty days they give you that money. And the road test was a breeze. Always been told there is the truth the drivers side and the compamies side. You are not telling the whole story. Did not say nothing to me about paying for anything on the trucks. I think your full of it:biggrin_2559:

When I talked to this company they told me about the Hazmat deal. I didnt hear anything about the bonus except for teams. Companies are starting to charge back people who quit before ninty days for D.O.T, drug test, ect. Cant seem to blame them the way people come and go.

Any company that says you need orientation is not worth working for.
We're driving trucks,we're not curing cancer but they'd have you thinking that by talking up a good game.

You have a license from the government that deems you able to drive....thats all you should need.
If companies have such a hardon for "training" drivers why don't they just stand up and say "Hey Government!,we need guys we can put in the truck that can do the job from the start". They don't do that because there would be fewer drivers and those drivers would be receiving higher pay. They just need some monkeys that can steer down the road and they treat you as such.

Steer clear of companies with orientations. Most dish some BS about "cost of training" just so they can scare you into staying for a few months.
