Truckers welcome meal tax amendment; budget includes other benefits

Golly, our Canadian federal government is going to let us have a little bit more of a meal allowance deduction. Now, the supreme court challenge to the meal allowance, claiming truckers were discriminated against, crashed and burned. I believe someone said to compare the meal allowance federal civil employees get (and they don't have to show receipts), and the truckers get, was like comparing apples and monkeys. Gee, guess which group, federal snivel servants, or truckers, were the "monkeys". Yup, every trucker and trucker's wife in Canada should take to wearing sweatshirts that say, "Let The Freight Rot!" And the idiot local papers keep having these articles blaring about what a good job being a truck driver is, and how high school kids should think about it as a career because there is a shortage of drivers. There is a shortage because truckers get treated like dirt by trucking companies and their dispatchers, get shafted by their own governments on meal allowances & the darn governments forget, around tax time, that the whole economy of the blessed country revolves around truckers getting the freight delivered. Yup, I would like to get a "Let the Freight Rot" sweatshirt and shove it up my Prime Minister's nose!
