That's a good idea. Also, i like the "small potato cubes" and red meat---like devils ham? Hopefully it's not ham as i don't dig pork, but i like whatever this is called.

UPDATE: i'm doing Safeway salad. Works ok. Planning on doing some detroit cooking. The engine, not the city.

Depends on how your body react to certain foods at that time of the hours and what your activities are afterward. For instance: I happen to like (greasy) Wendy burgers / White Castles but they just run right through during those hrs :biggrin_2555: but not on others and as long as my body isn't too fatigued and so on. Usually I like something "heavy" when I plan to run hard or light (salad / yogurt) when I'm going to be shutting down for the night/day. In between times fruits / veggies to munch on or even those moist oatmeal cookies at times.

For me, since I happen to have one of those Burton stove (ones that looks like lunch box) for quick meals: Chunky / Campbells soups or meat mac or some type of pasta.
Sometimes Japanese buck wheat Soba noodles that are consumed cold (for summer), gyro wraps or samewiches made on/in pita breads, middle eastern hummous dip, shiskabob wraps and so on.
Hardboiled eggs (in between meals), carrots / celery sticks, string cheese, etc...

Gawd it's no wonder some of ya are starving!
PB&J is the best you can do? His bologna sounds alot better!

    OK starving brother-trucker dig this...

Getcha one of those 12 vdc. lunch-box style heaters and a buncha those small aluminum meatloaf pans. (walmart for the pans)

Make yerself up a batch of H/B Helper, Rice-a-roni, mommas leftovers, whatever and fill the pans. Cover with foil and freeze em.

About an hour before ya wanna eat, plug the sob in and put the metal pan inside. Close the top and drive on.

Yer gonna need a spoon and a glove for this next step. Ya need the glove cause it's gonna be WAY HOT, and the spoon to eat with.

Frozen Buros, hotdogs, hotpockets, pizza, etc can be heated up quick. A can of Chef-boy-r-d in the can , corned-beef-hash etc. can be heated up and eaten outa the can. (yer gonna need a can-opener & a spoon)

Peel the label off the can,,,pour 1/2" of H2o in the box, drop the can of choice in there, lock the lid and DRIVE. I about 30 min. getcher glove on and after ya use the can-opener, use the spoon!

    I oughta write a book!;)

    Things I'm carrying during training.....
Beef jerky, ham/cheese/bread for sammy's , chef and chunky in the pop top cans, (the defroster will warm them enough in my truck, your mileage may vary.) Eventually when I'm done learning and have more access to truck stuff I'll throw in a MW and carry other stuff. Right now, thats enough for me...probably not the healthiest diet, but I don't eat THAT dang healthy anyway!
