Yes it does not add up , lets spend more than $150.00 so we can disqualify a prospective driver and save that whopping $150.00 orientation pay.

Yup sure looks like a bunch of liars / cheaters to me.

    GET REAL

Man, werner drags the background check out more than any other company i have ever worked at. The only thing they check is your criminal history + warrants before they take you to orientation, AND throw you in a truck. I hear a lot of stories about people being on a trainers truck for 2 weeks and then getting sent home...

I did 140 hours of training due to having experience (easiest student my trainer ever had he said hahaha). My mom worked in the office at my last job (LOL momma hooked me up) and a week after i had been in training, got a call from her saying werner called for employment verification about 10 minutes ago. Hahahahahaha.

But it gets worse. I had been solo for almost two weeks (5 weeks after getting hired! WTF!!) and got a message on my qualcomm from recruiting, telling me i needed to call them. I honestly thought i was going to lose my job. I thought maybe my last trucking company had lied to them and they were firing me over it. (worked for a real scummy company).... No, they just asked me about the only employment entry thats currently on my DAC...which says that i went to orientation and was not hired at JB Hunt....they asked what the deal with it was and that was it.

Atleast JB hunt checks up on you while youre in orientation and apparently has a huge team of people so they can get it done quickly.

my husband worked for them a few years back and the dispatcher was very rude , i road on the truck with my husband for 2 years one day i got a call that a family member past away my husband called his dispatcher ask if he could get a load going toward the house to drop me off, we were only about 200 miles away they told him no i was lucky on was on the truck with him and i did not matter. i was a luxury that is one reason why my husband is not with them anymore.:biggrin_25511:

I don't believe there is any "prerequisite", length of "employment" or other circumstances that would disqualify companies like these from recieving "Job creation" subsidies and tax breaks.

And since it is such a patchwork of national, state, and local laws that apply - that could very well mean a nice subsidy for every warm body walking thru those orientation doors ... whether they last a few days or months.

BTW ... that $150 or however much per applicant rejection ... a straight up tax write-off ... no sweat off their backs.
