For four years,I drive tractor trailer (military supplies)in the vicinity of Kandahar Afghanistan. In March, back to Canada and I'm going to ride between the Can-US.
Before going to Afghanistan I was crossing borders often and some the U.S. customs officers would not let me leave the cabin doing X-ray
There were limits to all but a couple of transition where they would not let me go to a safe place where I could wait until the process ends on x-rays.
If some U.S. customs still remain to force to stay in the truck cabin I will contact Health Canada and look for a legal defense against the deadly dose of radiation
    My question is
Are you advice to not leave the tractor trailer during the X-Ray scan?

    Thank you
    TJ

They don't start the machine until the nose of the trailer is in the zone. They don't do the cab. You should be just fine sitting in the seat. If you are worried go to a hospital supply and get some of those badges that detect Xrays or make a friend at a hospital maybe in the xray department and see if they'll get you a few and develop them for you. Keep them in a metal box after the first exposure and I'd use 2. Put 2 on and then when through the first xray put one up BUT use the other one for several exposures but keep using two until you can get them developed. Be sure to mark or number them and keep a log as to what each one did and which one at what different site.

If you're that worried about exposure then you'll need to find a different niche in trucking.

I really don't think they'll "expose" themselves to this kind of a law suit if it was going to over expose anyone to the xrays.

    Hello
    Thakns for answer

Please ask your mom if she stands besides patient during the process of x ray or she goes to the safe room design for her protection
And please remember, that the truck is scan with huge amount of radiation because has to penetrate the load, human body does not need much power to take a X ray picture
The conclusion is that your and I will be exposed to the very strong wave of radiations
And one thing I have noticed, why customs check ,scan the trailer and never check the cabin, is it ok to delivery bombs in the cabin I don’t think that those guys are so stupid ,I guess that they scan cabin too with the driver inside and scanner does not has to be pointed to you to see it
To finish this topic my question was if you are order to stay inside of the truck or you leave the truck and go behind the brick wall as one smart custom officer in Buffalo/Niagara border told me to leave the truck during the scan
    Great Regards and Merry Christmas

PS.I see some guys make a jokes trying to make me kind of stupid. I know those types of people but I’m not able to help them because the process of brain wash has been done already by TV and stupid movies J
Some of them should wrap their brains and I will wrap my camera because it really does damage to the films

My comment on the CAMERA was not a JOKE, know of 2 others same thing happened and 1 had pics of trailer damage that was now useless.

I used mine at a truckshow and next day replaced it with another KODAK disposeable. When I had the pics from the truck show developed they were all distorted , film was bad.

At the Canadian Border at Houlton, Maine, the Canadians xrayed the truck. They ask us to stand on the side while they did and made sure no one or pet was in the truck.

I told them there was a fly that had been a pest and did not care whether they got him out or not.
