i am staying in brookfield,oh, i live in youngstown like 15 minutes from the brookfield terminal, most of the runs going to be out and backhaul to the terminal, i heard about the union, its 40 dollars a month and the family insurance like 37 dollars a week, something like that, but let see what happend, honest one of the things that i dont like from nick is that the trucks have a friking camera in the windshield and thats not good at all.
after i applied with nick i was called from yourga and that stuck my mind, they have better trucks (kenworths) and the insurance is cheaper + the union, lets see how this works...

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

go with yourga, i heard that they are the best in the area. i would work for them in a heartbeat if they would hire drivers from the buffalo area. just stay FAR AWAY from LJ Kennedy!
-
yeah the dash cam can be good or bad though when there's and accident, yet an invasion of privacey...
yes insurance is $37 for family/week but starting in Jan insurance is another $15 more/week
another thing I don't care for is no paid holiday until after 1 year where a lot of places it's only 90 days
the equipment at strimbu isn't bad. i geuss it's all about your preference. i wanted to applied at yorga, but they wouldn't accept my app. cuz i live too far away.
Like I said the people there are nice and it's not a bad place.. -
yeah, 37 a week is great, even with a 15 dollar increase, its 90 for family ins where i work, i pay 36 a week for this goofy health savings account system, and thats single coverage, that is nowhere near as good as normal insurance.
i am probably going to switch over to my wife's insurance eventually, because i can't see the health savings account plan that i have being affordable for having a family, which will start soon enough..
the lady at yourga told me that basically they don't want any driver over an hour away, because they don't use seniority as a way to dispatch, its first come, first serve.
at least you are in an area with some good steel hauling companies still around, everything around buffalo and western new york sucks. i wish strimbu or yorga or p i and i would hire up here, or at least come up and run cheap crap Ficel out. I have called them all, and P I and I will hire up here every once in a while, but they want someone who already has steel coil experience, and they aren't willing to train anyone in this area.was hoping -
thats right, the lady at yourga shows me the facilities and they have a nice place, they have a huge garage divided for fuel, tires, maintenance, wash, body shop , that garage is huge as hell, they have a tractor trailer parking outside under a huge shed with an asigned number
for each driver, thats good, at least everytime that the truck is washed park the truck on ur parking under the shed and at time to leave the truck is free of snow and clean.....

yeah, their equipment must last a really long time with nice care like that. I wish they would have moved up to buffalo a couple of years ago, i think i know the lady you are talking about, because she told me that they were VERY close to buying a yard in the Buffalo area, right after Path truck lines went under. they put an ad in the buffalo news, got a bunch of replies, and sent out a lot of applications. they didn't get ONE application back. it sucks, because i still have my application in there, but they can't hire me because i supposedly live too far away. Hell, for a job that good, i would drive to and from wheatland every monday and friday. just work me all week, ya know?
-
As he said try Maverick,90% or more get home on the weekends.
The other 8-10% can't cause nothing is a guarantee. -
Sorry i just read you got on somewhere

Congrats! -
hey, strimbu has home time per contract, correct? they never get hung out on weekends unless you got other days off during the week, correct?
-
already gone, why you dont relocate to this area, i know this area is a little bit bored but its a nice place to grow up kids(if u have) with good work opportunity
and the living is cheap....
