I just thought I would mention a tip concerning some fix'es on truck's & trailers. I bought a 3" high speed side cutter from harbor freight for $10.00 I put a quick disconnect in my air tank & have a 50 ft hose. with cut off wheels it is real easy to cut the threaded rod on brake chambers if installing yourself on the road. I always keep a spare in my side pocket. the hose I already had for air if I need to add to any tires,& the grinder is small, but is great to remove rusted bolt's or anything else. just a suggestion.I am sure there is more uses for the grinder, for the price of grinder & cut off wheels it is worth it. plus you can put a wire wheel on it & clean runsty spots where metal need to be acheived to have a good ground.
for those who work on their own truck

Being Harbor Freight....Was the "Peanut Grinder" made here in the US or was it Chinese? I like Harbor Freight...but they also sell a lot of Chinese made crap.....

oh yeah it is a cheap peice of tool, but it will get the job done. being as you would rarely use it , it would last a lifetime. it would probably not be good for long tern everyday use, but in a pinch, for $10.00 hey ya can't go wrong.

just remembered I bought a 1" impact gun from them 7 years ago, for $100.00 I am still usuing it to change tires. I have takken off & on lug nuts about 40 times or so in the last 7 years with that gun. will upgrade this year, but it is still doing the job. it at least paid for it self many times already. as far as the grinder, one could go to another store & buy a good quality grindr like I.R. but like I said for the use I would go for the inexpensive one.

Dont get me wrong, I love Harbour Freight. But for emergency repairs on the side of the road or in a lot somewhere, I would go with a good tool. The reason being is that you never know when the harbour freight tools are gonna break and leave you stranded if you must get the job done to get down the road.

I've learned my lesson with tools. Buy a quality tool once, or keep replacing the cheap ones, and end up paying more than the quality one cost, and still not have anything worthwhile.

My step dad used to buy stuff from Harbour Freight all the time. Some stuff is okay if you only are going to use it once in a while. I bought a set of drill bits from them once, cause they were so cheap. I sure got what I paid for.
The OP I'm sure is correct. For ten bucks, you really can't go wrong. -
I have 2 dir grinders from home depot. A straight and a right angle. 25~30 bucks each I think, I have used abused neglected and beat them both up. They still work but do show their age. If you are going to use it as a cutoff tool don't get the mini, the really small one lack the power to do a fast job doing that.
I hate to admit I have 4 die grinders in my tool box all set up with different tools. And there is no way I will post on the web how much I didn't spend on tools in case the GF reads it......

I just got a flyer from h.f. they also have a small air metal saw cutting tool. that looks like it may work better on making straight cut's.

heavyhaulerss as to the 1 inch impact. Have you tried running it off the truck? I have a 1969 White Freightliner with a 8v71 DD. I've taped off the air tanks and still can't get enuff air to drive the gun. Am I missing something??
