I just bought a mechanical liquid filled guage from Granger. To mount it I had a spare hole on the frame (from removing the water separator) and used that with a bulkhead fitting. It works like a charm.
EverLuc Thanks this. -
Where is the fuel pressure gauge plumbed into the fuel system?
-
Why don't you just go to Peterbilt and get one that matches your existing guages and do an in-dash mount?
-
If it's a c-15 it will only last about 3 monthsEverLuc Thanks this. -
If it's a cat c-15 there's a port on the fuel filter housing -
So you only have your gauge there to look at whenever you have the hood open then?
-
I'll second that. Don't waste your money on the Pete one. I was thinking of getting a liquid filled one like pullingtrucker mentioned.

I have two of these guages. One plumbed into my FASS system and the other is plumbed into where the test port is on the filter housing. Then I just ran braided lines from those points to the bulkhead fittings in the frame rail.
Yeah they are only visable with the hood open which is fine. I check the pressures every morning while I'm doing the pretrip and every few days I run the engine up to high idle to check the pressure at normal cruise speed. -
The problem in mounting a liquid fuel pressure guage in the cab is the fire hazard. There are mechanical to electrical guages that can be used to monitor fuel pressures in the cab. Stewart Warner makes them.
bigguns Thanks this.
